I really need to adjust the time on our AC. The one in our room isn't too smart. It stays on all the time and either just blows air or actually turns the AC part on and blows cool air. It never really shuts off. It has a timer feature and allows 4 on and off times to be set. Just a matter of having it on when we need it... like 6am this morning when I wanted to not sweat after just coming out of the shower... Gotta adjust it to turn on for an hour while I get ready.

Never seen a timer on an a/c before. I know that some have them, just never seen it in person.

This is a 1 room type of thing. Not the window ones, but it has a small version of normal AC units outside and then a wide one hanging on the wall inside. The rest of the houses uses just a standard old fashioned thermostat. Our room was an addition.

I had a window one in my bathroom (that connected to my bedroom) when I was younger. The central A/C broke and my parents couldn't afford to get it fixed so they gave my a/c in my room first and then a personal unit for my dad's room shortly after, leaving the living room and kitchen to suffer.

I had AC in my room for a while too from a window unit. Formerly, summers in this house were so hot that sometimes I'd sleep on the floor of the living room where the AC was. My mom slept in the same room on the foldout couch, which was kinda creepy at age 14 and I wasn't comfortable with it

This place doesn't have central air, unfortunately... so I have to do with some single-room air conditioners. =/

I've never seen ACs with timers, but I know some hotels have those fans that use coins and/or timers...

So far this week the temperature hasn't gone above 65°F (18°C) and it doesn't look like it will for the rest of the week. Yay Seattle!

With that said, it shouldn't be surprising that I don't have an air conditioner.

Our A/C seems to have a clog in it.

We really didn't notice until we felt some water on the carpet. We were going to call on Friday.

Turns out it started to leak to our downstairs neighbor.

oops.

That's what you get for having your dogs on the balcony at midnight.

Bummer... thats one way to piss of your neighbors.

I think I have ours set just about right. Need to make 1 time change so its on longer during the hot part of the day, but today it was nice and comfy in our room.

Beautiful here. Warm, no bugs, no humidity.

Unless it's cold and raining.

Or the wind brings it from "just warm enough" to "chilly".

Or it's before noon and thus cold.

Or it's the Winter half of the year.

But right now, it's great!

Nice rain this morning and afternoon... glad I don't have to work today... but I'll be busy with other things anyway... =/

It'll only get to a more reasonable 73°F today... unlike the 95°F I had earlier this week. =P

I can't wait for the typical British weather to kick in and cool everything down. It's either that, or go to bed with my feet sticking out under the cover with a fan blowing cold air at my feet. Which works, by the way

Stepping out of my room is like stepping into an oven. Sounds stupid, but the three feet between my room's door and the house's door is actually really fucking hot.

Yup. We turn our car on in advance to cool it down inside before we get in. Just like people do in the winter, but opposite. If you don't, you're roasting for 15 minutes before the AC gets cool. Wastes gas, but I'd rather not suffer. I can deal with cold until I warm up. I can't deal with heat until I cool off though.

We do that here as well.

Sometimes I like sitting in the hot car and I get goose bumps.

It was warm enough for me, but the wind was cold-ish today. Usually it's a lot colder here close to Lake Huron than it is in Detroit, or even just a few miles inland in Croswell.

Yup, hot enough they had to put out the heat advisory. I really do feel for the elderly that live in this town. And in Pahrump, its even hotter there.
