Ok, so my dad is a Gamer. Mainly he plays WW2 videogames. But for Christmas last year I bought him a copy of Battlefield 2, and COD; Modern Warfare for the PC.

His computer (Better than mine. Motherfucker) can easily run it. So I thought I would treat him. I would have never thought he would get into it.

But yet. Here I am today watching him play the game. Both games. And owning at it.

Well, kinda. He knows BF2 better than Modern Warfare. And of course I can't blame him, I like BF2 better.

He also has this free pool game he plays a lot. And mind you, him and I are professional pool players in real life. But him playing this game? It's pretty funny seeing my dad play games like that and whooping some ass in it.

Got any family members who play videogames?

Also, I remember when I first got my PS1 and FF7. I remember him saying while I was playing the game: "Damn son, does the music have to be so godamn depressing"?

I thought that was the funniest thing ever.

He also liked Command and Conquer.

My dad is a paradox when it comes to gaming.

He is good at them, but sometimes he completely misses the obvious. Essentially, if the player was in a desert and you were told to find the only tree there, he'd run around for half an hour instead of looking at the horizon for a big tree.

My dad has played Civilization III for years, since the day it came out or so, and AFAIK he still can't get past Warlord level (the 2nd difficulty level, which is biased toward the player).

He used to play SMB1, always warped 1-4-8 (except 1 time I convinced him to go to world 2 instead of 4), and couldn't beat 8-2.

My mom is pretty good at games, although she mostly likes the puzzle and strategy genres She did beat SMB1 long before I did, though.

I always liked him watching me play UT2k4. Now he did try playing Quake 3 Arena back when I got it for my birthday (Same year it came out). And when he let me in the chair, I whipped that game's ass. Quake 3 was what brought me into the fast paced FPS genre (UT, Tribes, etc).

Anyways, UT2k4. His mind is blown every single time. He prefers the slower FPS games.

He also plays Starcraft 2. Well, he is in the Beta, and plays it often. I forgot to mention that in the OP. I am jealous of him.

He does let me play SC2 here and there.

So far, Online I won five matches, but lost two of them. He has lost every single match. But he still has a ton of fun playing them. And I always give him pointers here and there.

The UT series is epic. I have to admit, part of the reason I get it is for the level editor. Which I would be on UT3 using if my computer didn't SUCK.

UT3 editor is also Free to fuck around with. When I get my gaming comp built I plan on making some games to fuck around with. That is one of the things I like about Epic Games, they make great engines that is not only easy, but fun to learn how to fuck with.

I liked OpenGL back when it was grand. I made some fun fucked up shit on Tribes:

I got my mum playing Wii Fit. The last game she played was Worms Armaggedon on the N64 when I was like, 6. Her, me and dad. I won.

Of course, she kept Wii Fit up for one day in a row!

My mom used to play video games with me when I was younger.

If I remember right, some of those games were:

Bubble Bobble
Super Mario Bros. 1-3
Tetris
Life Force
Fighting Vipers
Vitura Fighters
Vitura Fighters Kids
Tekken
Pac-Man
Little Nemo
Adventure Island

And other fighting and adventure games.

I gave my dad a Gameboy Mirco a few years back with a few GBA games. Not sure if he still has it. He was the one who bought me new video game consoles for my birthday (if he could).

Father-in-law has a XB360 and a few games. He's been trying to play Bioshock but he's been too busy to play. He also enjoys Tiger Woods and PC games like Starcraft and Civ.

Nephews (by marriage) play games, mostly Halo 3, though.

Unfortunately, I think it's only me and my sister who actually play in our family. My father isn't keen on playing, except some board games and card games during christmas. Mom did play with my Wii some time ago, but that died out quick as well.

Neither of my parents have really ever played video games... until the Wii. My mom loves it, she plays Wii Sports with us. She's ok at the bowling, but thats about it. My dad is just entirely video game challenged. He could barely play Family Feud back on the SNES we had in 1998. And that barely requires any hand eye coordination, lol.

As for mine, I remember as a kid they'd play Tetris, SMB, and Double Dragon II. My dad also dabbled around with Wolfenstein and Doom on our old computer, but, due to his motion sickness, couldn't get into it.

My mom gets motion-sickness, so no. Unless it's 2D, no games. As for my dad, he tried playing with me a few times. I'd tell him the controls, he'd stop me from telling him saying, "I won't remember". When I beat him, he'd say "Goddammit, how can you expect me to play a game that I don't know the controls to?". Long story short, my dad's a dick. My mom and I played Super Mario World, got almost to the end. Then stopped playing. I have no clue why we stopped, to be honest. Same goes for Donkey Kong Country.
