At the moment I'm unpacking the first of my stuff in my new room. =)

Nothing much special about it, it's slightly smaller than my old room and it's farther away from my school. (One extra hour with express train.) But it's totally worth it to live out here at my dads place where it's calm and close to nature!

I might snap some photos when we bring up the rest of my stuff here in two weeks, but yeah, this is awesome!

So many people moving

Congratulations on your move, and hopefully you like your new location better than your old location.

I'm not taking much myself to Seattle because I'm taking the train, so I'll have my mom ship some things over. I'm pretty minimalistic and don't need much. Give me a laptop and I'm happy

I will see if I can get some photos soon... even if I snap them now I can't show them as I did not bring my phone->PC USB cable with me.

Anyhow... the reason I did not move up here before was due to the lack of a good bed... well I got one from some people we know.

And guess what? My dad came into my room a while ago and told me that there also was a box with old video games from them too!

So, after sorting away what to not keep, here is the list of the loot:
SNES games:
Pilot wing
Tetris + Dr. mario
SMAS (Now I have two copies! :specialed:)

N64 games:
Banjo and kazooie (I love this game!)

2x SNES controllers! (This is great as the one I have suck balls! I hope one of these are better! =) )

Brick gameboy. (Did not come with any games, but I do have a few myself.)

Plus, several instruction booklets to keep!

Like I promised, here are some photos from the room. =)
Mind you, most of the stuff there is not mine. Stuff on the window and on the bed is mine. =)

Also, while I took the photos I snapped a shot at the games I got too! =)

Also, you can't see it (even if you could see out the window) but right across the street from the front door is the forest! (I love living close to nature!) ^^

edit: I will snap some more, higher quality, photos after we have moved up the rest of my stuff this Monday!

Also, Tube televisions are still FTW.

Nice setup, Luna... I'm packing up my stuff for yet another move, although I'm going to wait until my sister moves in with some of her friends (which should happen later this month) to finally move. =)

Looks pretty cozy. I don't mind small rooms if they have storage space. Nice desk, I had one like that a while ago. The L-shape comes in handy, especially when working on multiple computers. I have a laptop now, so not much need for a desk. I think I had the same chair a while back, as well.

Unpacking, for me, is the worst. That's when you find out that the movers were stupid and put [something fragile] under [something heavy], causing it to break.

In addition, when I unpack, I normally go "Where the heck is all this stuff going to go?" Packing is 1) done by movers and 2) something that gets done and over with in a couple of days.

We're still unpacking from our summer move. I am surrounded: 5 boxes to my right, 10 boxes to my left, and 3 in front of me. It's just crap that we haven't needed to use yet.

In short, unpacking is painful and drawn-out.

My parents had movers help them go from Michigan to New Jersey in 1990. After that, we always had to pack everything and they even drove it themselves. They're not the types to trust anyone.

With unpacking, I tend to get lazy, and with packing, it's often really haphazard and I just toss in everything that fits and that I don't think I'll be using until after I move.

I'm actually not bringing all my stuff over when I move. I only care to bring the things that I use regularly, if there something else specifically I want I can bring it over later, as mention before, I'm moving from my moms place to my dads. (Around two hours by train in between.)

My family and I have always packed, loaded, and unpacked ourselves. Granted, we usually had plenty of help. I understand some people physically can't load everything themselves. But when you get friends and family to help, all it costs is a few boxes of pizza.

And on the plus side, you know whats fragile and needs to be stacked on top. I always look at loading a truck like Tetris. You have to fit everything just right and it all gets packed in. I've done it so many times now that its just second nature.

Yeah, I actually didn't bring much stuff to Seattle, since I was taking the train and didn't use a moving company. I figure my mom can ship stuff over or eventually bring it over. She talked about driving out here, but with my dad

Not a bad little setup you got going on there, I have to admit. I dig it.

Each time that I have moved, never had to deal with movers. I rather pack my own stuff.

Same here, Anya... since I have a friend who has a van anyway, that'll help in some cases, like furniture, etc. =)

I prefer to pack my own stuff, but I have no automobile so if I have more than a tiny amount of stuff, I'd need help moving it. My parents helped me move a few times before when I still lived in the Detroit area.
