August 31st now due to longer-than-expected development. Hopefully they use those two months to iron out any bugs and stuff that are in the game.

Don't think there will be another delay. North America always gets Metroid first because it's more popular here, even if only by a couple days.

New story and gameplay elements both shown off. New things shown are Wave Beam, Shinesparking, Grapple Beam, and shown only in the status screen is something called Diffusion Beam. No clue what that does. Also lots of outdoor environments. Someone said they also heard a character mention Plasma Beam at one point.

Man, I can't wait for it to come out. I've played every Metroid game except Metroid Pinball. My favorite was Super Metroid for the SNES. Other M is suppost to be a sequel to Super Metroid, so I'm very excited. It's really annoying that they bumped the release date, I think, for the third time.

Anyway, the diffusion beam sounds like it is similar to the diffusion missile from Metroid Fusion for the GBA.

The only reason I'm not hyped for this is that the idea is that you're going to run around in a 3D enviorment with a D-pad (a shitty d-pad non the less)

Also, I hope that the story does NOT kill the "metroid" feel to the game, if it does then that's major downer for me. :/

Yet the wiimote dpad has been praised many times over the years.

First run wiimotes dpads were bad though, but quickly after they were made differently and better.

Personally, I find Wiimote D-Pads to be great and love using them.

Either way I think we can all agree that the 360 has the worst D-Pad ever.

Accually, in "Super Metroid", the baby metroid, which became the largest metroid in that game, was supposedly the last metroid in existents. From what I've heard, Samus is now looking for more metroids to bring the species back into existents in "Other M". The reason for this, I still don't know. But, I think it is to lead up to the "Metroid Fusion" story line; which begins with Samus being saved from the X parasite, which is infecting her, by the DNA of a metroid.

I know that I'm whining a lot but I can't help it. I just tend to get hanged up about the stuff I dislike rather then the stuff I like. It's much easier for me to put in words what I don't like rather then explaining what I like about something. :<

TyTy: I don't think it would be a replacement name for spazer, as it was called wide beam in fusion. I'm hoping they will put in quite a bit of new upgrades to play around with as well as full use of grappling beam, ala super metroid.
