Most of these are from a little failed business venture of trying to sell these kinds of things. Lots of interest, but only one buyer, who had it in a local gaming store for a while, which was bitchin'.
That Ness mosaic is even still for sale if anyone wants it. Make an offer. The last two are not for sale.
I do more than this though. I'll post other little various projects I've done with Legos if there's enough interest in the thread.
I used to love Lego. I might still build with them if it weren't for moving and a bunch of DUR that happened over at Eurobricks I had a castle and mediaeval village partially built.
Those are pretty cool Are they based on actual sprites?
Here's something some of you Pro Wrestling fans will get a kick out of.
More pictures are available if you guys want.
Essentially, I made my own Lego wrestling ring. However, I didn't want it to suck. I remember John Cena saying something about a 20 foot x 20 foot ring, so I ended up making the ring 20 pips on each side. The stairs are breakable and can actually break on both steps. It didn't take that many Legos to make, surprisingly. The posts were a real pain to make because I had to make it at the height of the Lego people to make it accurate, so I had to use a bunch of flat, round pieces to make it with, and the only color I had that many of was in brown. I got creative with the turnbuckles though. Those are typically pieces used in pulleys and zip-lines, but I just turned them diagonally inward.
As far as outside materials go, the ring ropes are actually thick sewing thread which are now double-knotted to ensure they stay in properly. The ring aprons are a combination of some blue fabric bought at Wal-Mart originally used for additions to my Scout backpack, and some earring clips that I bought at A.C. Moore for a buck.
As far as replicating my own WWE, didn't happen for the most part. I did make a few past WWE guys, but I decided to have fun with it and do like the early 90s where everyone had a character gimmick. It works quite well for the various Lego themes I"ve built up over the years.
I'm actually really proud of how this turned out more than any other Lego thing I've ever made.
I love pixel art! On any medium! This and I would say post-its are my favorite.
I used to play with Legos for hours upon end. But I was 12 at the time and had thousands of pieces. We had gotten Legos for my birthday, my brother's birthday, and Christmas for like 2 years straight. Then we moved to Puerto Rico and played even more with them since watching TV wasn't that great (everything being in Spanish). Then we moved back to the States and 1/2 of our boxes were lost... including the one with our Legos! /cry
