I think above the forum list and thread list is a good idea, but I'd also rather have them at the top of the posts and not after the first one. Having it after the first one kinda breaks the flow of the page in my experience. ____________________

I mean, the only places I've seen them in the middle of the thread like that is when the ads are forced on them.

Sure, I see the point of wanting people to see them, but if we do that we may as well plaster flashes that take over the entire top half of the screen.

I don't like the idea of ads being between posts on a page. I think the top and/or bottom of each complete page would be better positioning.

Ad banners are fine at the bottom of each page, but not in between posts... I've been to many forums which have those mid-thread ad banners, and even worse sites which put big Flash pages over the thread, too. =/

Difference between text ads and flashy ads.

Plus I'm fairly certain I had Adblock on; I disabled it but I think it only enabled the ads on the front page and not those in-thread.

A mix of two things.

No ads between posts, and I adblock 'em all. I just hate ads. All of them. Everywhere. I'm also a dirty cheapskate. Feel free to loathe me for it, I've been poisoned by the great popup attacks of 2003; ever since I got the chance to block them, I psychopathically block them all, and then even some pictures I want to see also get blocked, but I don't bother unblocking them because I prefer minimalism.

That said, for those who don't have an irrational hate of all ads everywhere, I would say it's acceptable to have at the top and, if it makes any money there, bottom of the page.

Yeah I'd be fine with ads at either the way top or way bottom, not in the middle. And none of that audible "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE WON!" shit, either.

Simple text or static image ads are fine, as long as they're for a legit product or service... I don't like how most ads are for scams or malware. :/ I'd even let some flash ads fly if they're for something legitimate.

Graphical (image) ads on the bottom? Not a huge issue. Like I said, though, I never pay attention to them. I don't like these between posts.

Flash ads? I'll go out of my way to block these. (Not to mention, it could really screw with the browsers of those not on Windows. Trust me, I'm speaking from experience here when I say Flash on anything but Windows is a total piece of shit.)

My opinion seems to be in line with the majority of the others who have posted in this thread as I'm fine with ads as long as they aren't in between posts.

Ads in the places where they were before would be awesome, although I'm guessing that you're trying to make them more visible instead of just shoving them at the bottom of the page
