Actually, the randomized wild pokemon code is something awesome. I myself kinda dislikes when the game limits you to what pokemons you can get early game. (I tend to want my team set up as soon as possible.) HG/SS was not bad in the aspect of variation but D/P/Pt was awful...

Anyhow, I will get this code later if I get the game on my flash cart. (I have no AR)

I'm quite satisfied with the diversity HG/SS has. (Yes, D/Ps variation was quite lacking.) The only thing that's keeping me from picking the a nicely diversified team that I wanted is the fact my bro picked half of the same ones before me and I don't want to feel like I'm copying him.

Good type coverage. You've got a pretty good special offense and special defense coverage but you lack a good defensive tank.

I'd say a fighting, rock, or ground type, honestly. I would wonder how a Mamoswine or something similar would do for you. Just something that has good ATK and DEF capabilities is what I would be after.

What is your thought of Leafeon and Scizor? There both good at ATK and DEF. Tyranitar is also an other really good one at that.

Out of those three listed, two of them are in my party.

I really like using Scizor over Tyranitar, mostly because of Bullet Punch (Priority move) + Technician + STAB + high attack versus Tyranitar being a mostly okay but slow physical threat. Only problem with Scizor is that he gets a 4x Fire weakness and he will almost surely fall to anyone using Flamethrower most times.

Leafeon, not too sure. I would likely go and use a Torterra, as that seems to be a popular route. Not saying Leafeon doesn't have decent ATK and definitely good DEF, but its HP is a paltry base 65...a problem with most of the Eevee evolutions.

True but as you can see I do like me some eevee evolution. I also am not much for Torterra. I like Scizor but I see far to many people with it so I'm not sure if i want one that everyone else has.
*Looks shyly at Charizard*

No Guard Machamp. DynamicPunch. feelsgoodman.jpg

Seriously, though, Machamp is a champ. No pun intended. He will wreck DoubleTeamers up, and won't think twice about fucking up the rest of their shit along with it. A good choice, especially for story mode, and he even works well in online.

And I usually combined that with Choice items, usually scarf to outspeed. Needless to say, I've left him out of the competition after the first three or so thrashings I gave with him online just to be somewhat fair.

I'd actually like to hear some suggestions for a 6th Pokemon as well.

I currently have Tyranitar, Dragonite, Magnezone, Machamp, and Swampert, but I simply cannot decide on a sixth Pokemon. (For the record, that spot has been occupied primarily by Wobbuffet, Alakazam, and Shedinja, but I suspect there are more ideal choices than those.)

Of course, if you have any suggestions regarding my current team, I'll take them into consideration as well, but I'd rather not totally revamp my team again.

I'd say go a dedicated fire in your case. I had a similar case and had water and thunder covered but was weak when it came to laying out that element. Fire is needed a great deal of the time anymore.

I went Ninetales, in my case, although that's only because I found a shiny Vulpix and went from there. I was initially searching the area for a specific Houndour to get to Houndoom.

I'm with Hiryuu, but Houndoom is too fragile to make decent use of. I'd go with Infernape or Blaziken. Flare Blitz is amazing. That, combined with awesome fighting moves, like Close Combat, High Jump Kick, or Low Kick make them really a force to be reckoned with. Thunderpunch fucks up water and flying counters. There are a LOT of options for a good Fire/Fighting type.

Magmortar may not be a bad choice. Also fragile, but it's movepool and high Sp. Atk stat make it a strong force to be reckoned with.

I have to say a fire type would be good for you too. You are also really heavy on the ATK side of things(Tyranitar, Dragonite,Machamp, and Swampert) and a little lacking on your SP. ATK(Magnezone, and your 6th team member I would hope). My thought would be to drop Machamp for a good SP. ATK pokemon but thats just me. The reason I would drop him is he has the lowest DEF and SP DEF of the 4 AtK pokemon you have.

Only problem I had with doing Infernape was overuse of OUs. Not to mention my Tentacruel nerfs Infernape for both his Fire and Fighting with Poison and Water typing...and Tentacruel tends to be a very common counter these days because of Infernape's use. Unless you're using Grass Knot, don't expect an easy win against one...even then, Tentacruel has high Special Defense and can probably sponge a non-STAB like that, even if it's 2x effective. Not to mention that I would likely set up Toxic Spikes if you were to switch out out of fear.

I wanted at least some sort of balance out there. Keep in mind that a Nasty Plot later, I've got Flamethrower, Dark Pulse and Energy Ball ready to kick some ass (and Ninetales's speed isn't half bad either, especially after EV training).

Based on your suggestions, I'm currently thinking of dropping my Machamp in favor of a Blaziken and getting something with a high Sp. Atk stat for my 6th Pokemon.

Now, an Alakazam would be pretty convenient for me, but its low HP and Defense make me a bit nervous. Any opinions on this?

Also, if dropping the Machamp is actually a bad idea for some reason, then I've got a Magmortar handy to fill my empty slot.

You drop Machamp that has No Guard and you lose a valuable Dynamicpuncher.

Outside of that, no real loss.

There's no real reason to use Blaziken when Infernape is pretty much better at everything Blaziken wants to do :|

It's not. Poison resists grass, so it's 1x effective. Only 2x effective moves Infernape gets vs. Tentacruel are Earthquake, Thunderpunch, and Dig (yay dig!). Well, and Hidden Power... maybe.
