I was just reading this earlier today and figured they would release a date soon. I didn't expect today! Thats awesome! Even though it doesn't quite have the app repertoire of the iPhone, this is 10x better in my book. Mainly because I get the Sprint Employee plan through my sister-in-law's wife and pay $55 for 2 phones with unlimited text, web, 450 minutes each. Granted we have to wait for the latest phones, employees can't buy them for a month or more after they come out due to high demand for certain phones. But I can wait a month or two more for this since it means keeping our cheap plan. I did read that it may require a special service price of $10 to use, but its still cheaper with a base plan of $20 including unlimited text. So a grand total of $75 for an iPhone equivalent? I'll stick with Sprint.

Edit: Oh wow, it'll allows simultaneous voice and data usage. There are benefits to living in Las Vegas, which include use of the 4G network already installed here

Some really cool videos showing off the video chat, speed tests, and Youtube HQ on 4G vs youtube on iPhone. It really looks amazing. I found out from my pocket Sprint employee (see above post) that we only have to wait 30 days to get it. Which is perfectly fine, gives me enough time to save up for 2 of them. It'll run about $81 for 450 minutes each with unlimited text, mobile to mobile, and 3G/4G data. Can't be that. And if I wanted to add the mobile hotspot, its still cheaper than a shared plan for 2 iPhones that don't allow tethering at all.

Need to make a count down timer or something. Just 51 days left

Paulguy's Post configuration
Wow, looks neat. I won't get a new phone for at least another year, though... I just got mine near the end of last summer.

Also, does it have a keyboard? I really hope for my next phone I can find a decent one with a keyboard, but it seems like the majority of the "high end" ones are trying to duplicate the iphone, and all of it's usability problems. Maybe that will change.

Honestly, it'd be cool to see a phone that could kinda snap in to a shell kinda like the Pandora (including the large battery), so it'd still be usable as a phone, but you'd be able to get a keyboard and game controller buttons when you need it, and I won't need to carry two devices with me (and have a Snapdragon Pandora-alike device. :p).

Evo 4G + Andriod 2.2 aka Froyo = win

Can't wait to try an Evo 4G hands on next month. Also to see all the announcements from Apple WWDC 2010 a few days later.

And to answer your question, Paulguy: no. It does not have a physical keyboard. Which is fine by me, keeps the size smaller.

Good review on engadget of a sample retail phone. Just seeing it in action in the video, I WANT NOW! Sorry for caps, but I so want it. After being on a Blackberry Curve for almost 2 years... I'm ready to step into the current century of mobile phones. As I said before, I have to wait until July to get mine, but trying it in person next Friday when it releases.

Launch Day comes with bugs, but it seems its already being resolved. Memory card read error.

I am going to the Sprint store today to try one for myself. My sister-in-law said it may take 1-3 months for Sprint employees to be able to upgrade, so I'll have to wait at least 1 month but she said maybe more
