It's almost here again and I've already started to get my supplies. I've been saying that this is going to be a bad season...especially since it was dead last year.

Yea, VA has a tax free week for "Hurricane Essentials." I ought to take advantage of that and stock up on some batteries.

Hurricane Colin and Danielle are this year... I wonder if we'll get the worst hurricane in history this year. =/

After going through Charley, Frances, and Jeanne in 2004, I'm very glad to have moved away from Florida. We were without power for 11 days after Charley. That really sucked and it nearly caused my cat to die (she was bitten by a mosquito from having the windows open). I'll deal with 100 degree weather over hurricanes any day. I do miss frequent rain, though.

I still have thoughts about hurricane Andrew. I was 12 at the time.

And then we have an article that states a below normal eastern Pacific hurricane season.

I just keep thinking about what will happen if a hurricane hits the gulf while that huge oil spill mess is still there.

I was hit by the remnants of Hurricane Fran in Buffalo in 1996 or whenever it was, but it was only a tropical depression then.

I never lived in a hurricane-prone area, I guess.

I remember Hurricane Ivan hit us -- Twice! Went away and exclaimed "Oh hell no" and came right back around.

I like Hurricanes. And I like hurricane parties even more!

Living in what might be described as a bucket surrounded by huge walls, I've never, ever had to experience (or even be near) a hurricane. Hooray!

Also hahaha Danielle and Colin.

I almost forgot we even had a hurricane season last year. I'm not saying I want more hurricanes or anything, but it feels weird to not have at least one go near you.

Hmmm...

My middle name is Katrina

That was retired obviously, and they don't usually get up to the T's in the list, so my first name being a hurricane is unlikely.

If we had Wilma that one year, it's more than possible.

TD One has formed. Doesn't pose a threat to Florida, but might make landfall in Texas as a Tropical Storm...

Currently en route towards the Yucatan Peninsula.

Interesting. England is probably colder than most places, yet we are affected by less natural disasters. That's weird.

Seattle gets earthquakes. Being new to the area, I'm rather scared of them, not knowing what to do in an earthquake.

Detroit and the Thumb of Michigan get almost no natural disasters, only the rare tornado, so I'm not used to living in an area that's prone to them.
