Yep.

Normally I'd just stick this in the SMG2 thread, but DAMN. There's talk of this being adjusted, of course. Last I had heard, it was on par with GTAIV, but maybe not all the reviews had been in by then.

Honestly, not to mock SMG2, it is an awesome game and all, but I think we're going to need to reform this review system. Famitsu's handing perfects out left and right and they used to be known for their almost nazi like strictness over those things. I think this situation may very well spark some form of backlash at reviews or something along those lines...

Isn't OoT still #1 on Metacritic? Being #1 on one site doesn't mean much.

Not saying anything against Galaxy 2 as I'm loving it right now.

It's all about money anymore; people will buy when the reviews say 'go for it' and other people jump on it with friends because they say it's cool and etc. etc. etc.

Very seldom does a game really make itself worth a 10 rating and mean it anymore. I remember back when we almost shit our pants when Zelda: Link to the Past was almost THAT ONE GAME that got a 40 back in '91 (it got a 39)...only for one of its successors to finally be that perfect score from Famitsu years later.

And both, honestly, deserved it.

Anymore though...I'm not so sure.

Honestly, when it came to reviews, I actually trusted EGM when I couldn't get a hold of a friend on certain games. But of course, there isn't an EGM anymore... :/

It fell back down. Even if it doesn't place on top, it's up there with Galaxy 1 sticking it in second/third for the next decade or so, allowing it to be seen by everyone looking for the "best game to play".
