Seems like their PR isn't doing a good enough job of keeping things quiet. Granted its still a small % of their workforce, but its happening often enough that it could almost be considered an epidemic. I feel sorry for these workers. It may not be a sweat shop but being only 1 step above doesn't make it much better.

I'm pretty sure they had Apple, HP and whoever else on this, though...

...of course, that probably only means it has their attention now. Considering this is international news, now, I would expect the suicides to be reported more or increase.

They're raising wages 20% but they do that anyway for the upcoming holiday season when they ramp up production.

Its very sound logic... You can catch them as they fall and have a chute that puts them right back where they work the line...

It would probably cause more deaths at the start, but if they're fired or let go then they are no longer Foxconn's responsibility. Some of them may be depressed enough about it to commit suicide.
