How do we treat these? Are they nonexistent, focusing solely on the final release? Are they treated as a separate game? If so, how do we treat each build? I'm just wondering as I've had to field a few questions from a few interested parties who are willing to help provide info to the wiki.

It could depend on the content, if there's not much to say just include it in the page in different sections, if there's a LOT to say on the different builds, then perhaps separates pages would be better.

I would think that prototypes are indeed valid for wiki-purposes. As for how to organize them... Hn. Well, Categoryrototypes would be a nice addition, for starters. The real question lies in "do they get a separate article than the final?" I think the Zombies Ate My Neighbors page and the Ducktales page mention things found in both the proto and the final.

Maybe "for big differences, they get their own page. For little ones, just make a prototype heading under the final game's page"?

Use a subpage (Game Name/Prototype) and document everything of note, I guess. Anything that's different from the final.

The main page should probably only have leftovers that went unused in the final, with a big link at the top informing you of the prototype section.

For games that only have things of note in the prototype (or indeed, a proto with few changse) you can probably just stick it in a section on the main page.

Does that mean that the SMB2 page needs to be changed? Since it currently has the prototype documented on its main page.

SMB2 is an edge case because the game contains little unused content, and what isn't used is from the prototype.
