Saw it this past weekend and I thought it was pretty good. The first twenty minutes or so there is no action, but it isn't borning either.

Might see it again this weekend with a friend who was suppose to go see it with me last weekend. Might see it in IMAX this time.

Saw the midnight premier. I liked it, quite a bit, but I also enjoyed the first one a bit better. I don't know why, this was an awesome movie. I might end up seeing it again at some point, it definitely stands up well on its own right but in comparison to the first, I think I enjoyed the first just a little bit better. Anyone stay after the credits, by the way?

Oh yes, I did.

And yeah, Iron Man 2 was awesome. Loved the little Avengers tidbits thrown throughout the whole thing. Plus I think Rhodey was much better this time around, as the sly, witty badass he was.

I've never seen Iron Man 1. Yes I know I was living under a rock.

Anyway, would this be worth seeing without ever having seen the first and knowing absolutely nothing about Iron Man whatsoever? I might be hitting the theater this week.

You don't need to see the first one to understand the 2nd one. If you know of Iron Man, then you'll be fine.

I would HIGHLY suggest you see Iron Man 1 simply because it's awesome, but Anya's more or less right. There's one thing that directly relates to the first movie that might confuse you though. No, I'm not doing spoilers so you can spoil it for yourself. You're just going to have to see it.

Oh don't worry I DO intend to eventually see Iron Man 1. I just don't know if it will end up being before or after I see the second one due to real life/motivation/laziness. And thanks, I appreciate not giving spoilers

I really liked this movie. A lot. I'm going to see it again in the coming week, that's for sure.

Captain America's shield was in the first one as well there was also a Hulk reference if you were careful enough to catch it this time around, too (making that whole little bit go full circle)

Saw it on Friday. I did like it, though I thought the first one was better.

I'd probably have appreciated it more if I knew more about the Marvel universe. Most of the references when way over my head, I'm afraid.

Not reading the thread in case of spoilers, but I'm going to see it this Friday. My brother is in town visiting for the past week and a half, but his wife didn't get here until this past Sunday. She made him wait to see it, so we're all going Friday. Still debating if I want to see it IMAX. I know it wasn't filmed in IMAX like Transformers 2 was, but it was upconverted to IMAX resolution and we have a true IMAX screen down on the strip. Several other theaters have they're so called IMAX screens but they're just normal size and don't put the curtains down for the 16:9 format.

I love the true IMAX screen down at the Palms though, its huge and you sit closer to it than most theaters. Just have to see if it warrants the extra $5 per person.

Just saw it last night.

"Just because you have a big gun doesn't make you the big gun."

Very well done, one of the best super hero sequels yet. Up there with The Dark Knight, although that had a lot more drama to it (But hey, thats Batman. Drama is part of the game). The characters were well rounded this time, I didn't like Pepper Pots' sorta ditsy lines towards the end of the first movie. And even though I liked the first guy who played Rhodes, I think the new guy (Cheadle) did a great job of portraying War Machine.

Saw it last night at the Palms Imax theater. It has a true Imax screen. But it was not worth the extra $5 each. They said it was upconverted to fit the Imax screens... I think they meant the fake ones put in non-Imax theaters that are only 5ft taller than normal screens. True Imax screens are huge, the one at the palms is 46ft tall. But there was at least 10ft of unused screen space above and below the picture. So yes, while it was larger and due to the theater set up it seemed bigger since you are closer, it was not Imax. I made the mistake of thinking a non-Imax filmed movie could be ok on an Imax screen. I'll never do that again.

Transformers 2 was awesome because the Imax scenes were filmed in true Imax and Optimus was a big bad ass 46ft tall when I saw it 3 times at the Imax. I did enjoy seeing Iron Man 2 again, but it was tainted slightly by the fact that I felt we wasted $30 (6 of us) to see it.

I dunno why people keep saying the first one was better? This one had more action, more humor, and was all around less dull. Every scene had substance. The first movie was more formulaic. While fun and interesting, it lacked the individuality that was branded all over this film.
