(I know this was already posted in the Game Deals topic, but I'm not sure it's getting enough exposure up there... :\)

The Humble Indie Bundle. Six games. Windows/Mac/Linux compatible. No DRM. Pay what you want. Split your payment between the developers and two awesome charities (Child's Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation) in any way you choose. Ends in less than 24 hours! BUY NOW!

Included games:
  • World of Goo
  • Aquaria
  • Gish
  • Lugaru
  • Penumbra: Overture
  • NEW! Samorost 2

I'm totally going to buy this tonight!

No DRM.
Linux-compatible.

Picked it up a couple days ago, but I haven't gotten around to trying any of them out yet (school ).

It's neat that they threw a sixth game in there and made it available to people who bought it before it was added.

I see two games there that I know are worth quite a bit both as games and as price. (Aquaria and WoG)

This is great and as you pay what you want it's clearly worth it on all levels. (As long as you want any one of the games that is.)

I would buy this if it was not for the fact that I don't have paypal.

Bought it earlier today! Best deal ever. I've wanted to play all these games for a while now. Got a taste of Samorost 2 and World of Goo demos earlier and really wanted to play the full games.

End result...

$1,104,079. Yes. OVER A MILLION BUCKS.

$341,868 went to the charities *and* all of the games (except World of Goo) are releasing their source code.

Good stuff.

The only downside to this is you have to poison yourself with the knowledge you purchased Lugaru.

Uh...is there something I should know about this one before I bother running the installer?

Well, the description says...

"The main character, Turner, is an anthropomorphic rebel bunny rabbit with impressive combat skills. In his quest to find those responsible for slaughtering his village, he uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy involving the corrupt leaders of the rabbit republic and the starving wolves from a nearby den. Turner takes it upon himself to fight against their plot and save his fellow rabbits from slavery."

Sounds normal enough.

The description makes it sound pretty good. The screenshots are a little iffy, but it's an indie project so you figure you can go on ahead with it.

Combat is hideously random, far too fast-paced and buggy. I hope you enjoy dying fifty times on the same mission because the rabbit decided to roundhouse-kick instead of punching when you have no control over that.

I hope you like getting lost for twenty minutes on the featureless, low-draw-distance map when a crucial NPC doesn't spawn and you don't realize it.

I hope you like hearing rabbits scream at every kick, punch, dialogue box or cough.

Aquaria is pretty good, I thought. I didn't beat it (surprise...) but what I did play was somewhat fun.

Still need to play past the tutorial (I bought it from Steam last year) but... it's nice. Underwater Metroid, more or less.

Aquaria's one of the best games I've played in years.

But then I've been singing its praises for ages now.

That was probably unintentional, but I still got a laugh out of it.
