Same. I think I got sand in my speaker or something, because I used to hear just fine. Now I constantly need people to repeat what they just said. Texting is much clearer, and you can go back to it ("Where were we meeting again? Right, side entrance to Phys/Chem at 2:30")

Not only that, but sending a text message is in general a lot less intrusive than gluing a phone to your ear and you can usually wait to respond for a minute. With a call, you either answer and talk (and sometimes have a nice problem getting the damn call to end) or have to focus exclusively on calling.

Exactly, it is kind of stupid, especially where the popularity of Firefox and some other browsers has exploded.

Also, your robot may be depressed, but mine is angry.

Use something else except for what you need IE for. I use Chrome for web browsing and IE for my applications at work that have to use IE6.

I do. That's what Firefox is for.

Though in a bizarre instance, the first time I used the latest AIM, it screwed up my bookmark accessibility. Second charm was the time though. Heh, maybe I'll install Skype again when I actually get a computer mic again.

My school and bank are perfectly accessible with Firefox, although in years past I used to like Internet radio which was almost invariably IE-only for some reason, so I kept IE kicking around for that.

By 2008, I didn't usually use Internet radio, and I didn't know for a while that IE actually crashes on that machine.

Internet radio was the only reason I had RealPlayer on the computer.

I stopped listening to Internet radio, so that problem is solved now.

I never liked RealPlayer... QuickTime I can live with, but RealPlayer... just no. Who even uses that anymore? =/

Or downloading the 128x96 movies that run at ten frames a second and have to be upscaled to view them and are only five megs large.

Yea that was high life back then. YOU HAVE VIDEO THAT YOU COULD GET FROM THE INTERNET OMG.

I remember RealPlayer G2. It was so awesome.

I also used to use RealJukeBox back in the day. It was probably almost as good as foobar2000.

Yea I used G2 quite a bit. I tended to use MusicMatch Jukebox for the audio, though...and eventually dropped it in favor of Winamp which has stayed with me since high school for audio preference.

I only use Zune to listen to music on the computer. I used to use Winamp ages ago.

I'd still use Winamp 2.95, if it did work properly on Windows 7... (haven't tried it yet... but I know the latest 5.xx versions have a lot of spam in them, IIRC)

I use VLC usually, and just feed it files one at a time using drag-and-drop. =P

5.572 works okay for me in W7 x64.

Only 'spam' I can think of is if there's a new version that's come out.

That's one thing I liked about 98SE and 2000... none of the stupid activation and Windows Genuine Disadvantage stuff... WGD is also unreliable since some legit copies get marked pirated and vice versa... =/

Maybe they updated the system like today or yesterday? Though I haven't heard news of that.
