Doubly so, as Microsoft still owns the IP.

I was being sarcastic.

Saw this linked on SomethingAwful and it got me thinking, if Nintendo is going to make any changes to its online service, E3 would be the place to do it. Pretty sure they announced System Menu 4.0 at E3 last year and we got our major SD card support. I know the chances of all this happening is slim to none but at least Miyamoto is aware of the competition, unlike what seems to be the rest of the company. Granted, he's not the man in charge but I'm sure he has influence in terms of console development.

It's a pipe dream I know but it'd be nice.

I think it's gonna be a new Star Fox game. PLEASE!!!

I mean the 3DS and Zelda are gonna show up, right? This'd be swell. They made some mention of future Star Fox games recently, right?

System Menu 4.0 was before E3... I want to say it was at GDC 2009 but I'm not 100% sure.

PSP2 incoming.

This is just a rumor so far but considering the '3DS' move by Nintendo, it does seem likely that Sony would make a retort at some point.

A PSP 2 would be nice, but they'd have to make some serious changes to compete with the DS and soon to be 3DS market. The PSP has always been the more powerful portable gaming system but that doesn't always mean the best. The iPhone and apps have done really well because of their ease of use, so they'll have to try and go up against that market. But I think the PSP will remain the top in terms of power for more realistic games you normally see on consoles.

I would really wonder if the whole '3D' concept attempt by Nintendo will work out for them. If it was any other company, I would deem it a flop project. Even the Virtual Boy, back in the day, didn't do well at all in that regard.

Everyone keeps pushing 3D in their consoles and I don't really understand their thoughts of thinking that there's a market for it or if they're trying to force the opinion that there IS a market and have everyone bite onto it because 'omg we're Nintendo here's your Zelda and Metroid in threeeeeedeeeeeeee also does toast'.

The big difference is how the 3D aspect of the new DS is being handled. In a recent interview they stated that you will be able to turn off the 3D with the flick of a switch. If they were forcing everything on the new hand held to be 3D, then yeah it would be a terrible business move. Since they are leaving it optional, it's just a fun little addition to an already established and popular idea.

Problem is, I fear it's gonna be it's main selling point and a very gimmicky idea, like ALL of Nintendo's rencent works.

It'll be like the beginnings of the DS and Wii all over again: for a year or so, all the games released will have the 3D effects shoveled into the game whether or not it needs it, much like touch and motion control in the early days of the DS and Wii. Then oncec everyone realized there are better ways to use it than currently being used, games that take advantage of the capability will start coming out more and more.

It's a 3Dish game with the DSi, and I have a feeling that's roughly how the 3DS is going to work

Which explains why there isn't any glasses.

you know, it is possible to do 3D without the need for edited images with Red and Blue lines everywhere. By using a proper lens or screen and two "somewhat overlapping" images, one can produce a perfect 3D effect. Modern topographical maps were actually developed this way. I had to do stuff like this in Geology lab a few times and was quite a amazed this could be done. Fun stuff. Anyway, that's my take on how the 3DS will work. Either that, or some insane alien technology.

Thats really cool, I never knew the DSi had a tilt sensor in it. But as Tanks said, thats not how the 3D will work with the 3DS. It will be done by the glass thats over the screen and be actual 3D compared to the simulated 3D shown above.

I'm seeing some uhhh... E3 2010 document leaks... Hesitating to post them though because I can't prove their legitimacy and I don't want to spoil either...

EDIT: And my god if this thing is real... I might just shit myself.
