One of my personal favorite Sandbox videogames returns with the number "2" stamped on it. Excellent news for Sackboy fans, he is making a return!

Little Big Planet 2!

So what's new?

- Looks can be deceiving, but it looks like there is an engine update.

- A 'Grappling hook' type mechanism.

- No longer are you restricted to just 2d platforming. You can make racetracks, puzzles, and (citation needed) RPG titles.

- Over two million levels have been made for the original LBP and lots of DLC help made that happen. They will carry over on LBP2. So you get more bang for your buck.

- You can make bots for levels now. No longer is it a script. There are actual bots now.

LittleBigPlanet allowed you to string together vast piston-fuelled logic systems to control your bosses, vehicles, puzzles and machines. We’ve taken that system and simplified it to save on effort, space, thermometer load, and allow for far more advanced setups.

Circuit boards are your new friends, the very best friends you’ll ever have. You can resize them, cover them in all manner of switches, wire it all up, and then shrink it down to a tiny, tiny microchip... stick that on your creation, and give it all the logic you’ve just defined.

Remember that insane calculator level, made up of hundreds of pistons? You can fit that entire thing into one microchip.

That's all I have time for today! When I get more info, I'll post it.

You never played LBP? What the fuck is wrong with you?

Meh. I might rent this down the road.

LBP got boring for me and I'm still stuck in the same spot that I've been for over a year.

This is the best argument I've seen yet for getting a PS3.

Well, I would not say a 'Reason', but MM did a fantastic job with LBP. And this game is going to be such a huge improvement over the original. LBP put PS3 in the spotlight, and was praised to be that one game that was great for everyone.

Mainly the create function alone was enough to play around it. I spent countless hours making small levels and eventually got the Platinum trophy.

Sure Single player was alright. But some of the levels people made online were great.

I remember some random Japanese levels being absolutely stunning, I didn't realize how much was possible with the creation tool. really impressive stuff.
LBP is amazing if you enjoy building levels, or if you have some friends to jam with, but otherwise it gets old fairly quickly. It's great to hear that they're trying new things with LBP2. I really like MM and I'm excited to see what they'll come up with.

Qore subscribers got a little bit more info from it. But here is what I got from mine:

Remember on some levels on how you can drive a tank, use a crane, or use some other object that you had to have sackboy touch in order for it to operate

Well, the option is still there. Yes, option: Now there is a new tool to macro your controller to control the object that you wish to control.

There will be an AI

Well, from what I saw from the subscription; as far I see they follow you. But as far as an "AI" goes, I am sure they can be used for other things. Like attacking enemies, being weights, and so on.

Costumes you buy will have some sort of "Special effect"

...Not much was explained. But I suppose that will be a part of future DLC. Hell if I know?

While I was making this post. I found a Youtube so you can see more

<object width="640" height="385"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DtH7AphkuYY&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Enjoy. Supposed to come out this year.

E- Oh yeah, and My friend and I were playing the original LBP and we are making a level. He has learned a lot from the five hours from playing. So far, we made an 'absolutely perfect rocket' using only punk floaty stuff that is being shot out of an emitter. It uses a ton of thermometer usage, but we plan on using movement posts to direct the rocket around so you can go for a little ride around the map. With LBP2, it will be much more simple, and use so much less thermometer power. So I can not wait.
