Have a look at this one. X-51. Mach 6. 4700mph.

So about 400 miles in the time it takes to listen to a song on an MP3 player.

Worse is that this is a primer for things that will go up to the speed of Mach 25. About 4 1/2 miles per second.

Yea. Mind blown.

I don't think we'll see speeds that fast on any commercial aircraft any time soon. Not sure about you, but I think 2700º external temperature would make the cabin a bit toasty inside, lol. But damn thats fast!

Hell, being inside with the friggin' G-forces would be unsustainable I would think unless you had some way around it.

I think they're called gravity dampeners on Star Trek, lol. If it was a gradual acceleration to mach 6 then you could withstand the g-force, but a quick speed up to 4500mph would most likely squish you into jelly on the back bulkhead.

Heck, at that speed and the likely near-instant acceleration, you'd be LUCKY if there was jelly.

And gravity dampeners. lawlz If we ever pull of warp drive with that particular 'theory' in this lifetime I would be so very amused and so very impressed.

Teleportation is real so I guess warp is not far off!

But yeah, depending on how quick the acceleration was, jelly may be over stating it. lol

Well, if we start pulling common day-to-day stuff a la The Journeyman Project (circa 2310) any time soon in something affordable...just...yea.

Course if we're only at the stage of transmitting photons from point A to point B and over a margin of about 3 meters, that's still got a long way to go.

You could make some frightening Mach 6 unmanned attack planes at least.
