| DAMN that's good. Although Mario himself gets a bit of a letdown with what feels like less friction.
Ran through all of the levels just now, and I would say...somewhere between 20 and 26 levels were cleared with Bill Rizer. (At least 5 were cleared simply to get everyone else to Lv3 and the last level was cleared with Mega Man because I just died as Bill) Lv3 spread gun can kick some ass if you know what you're doing. Which I stopped doing during the last few levels, evidenced by my forgetting which way to go in 7-4. (minor describing goes here) Mario: Nerfed a bit? The one time I played him he seemed less able. Link: Not too good this time around, a short sword doesn't get very far. And stunned enemies still hurting you? What, I don't...ugh. Also 'down-stab only against spikes' I should tell myself next time. Bill: BILL! BILL! BILL! BILL! BILL! BILL! BILL! BILL! (that song) But seriously, Bill aims in any direction of the 8 and has a spread gun (shotgun) at Lv3. Sure he's not the only one that can shoot but he can hit Goombas with less trouble than Samus and doesn't slide like Mega Man. Unfortunately he doesn't stun enemies (see: Simon and Samus) and does things like MOVE when you're holding down then decide to press any side direction while still holding down. Nearly killed me once, did kill me twice. Simon: Air travel is tricky, but if you're playing underground don't forget you have axes. The bricks are damn weak to them(and by that I mean CLEAVE A PATH). Mega Man: Possibly the best for single-shot slaughter thanks to his Lv3 charge, but otherwise comparable to Samus and Bill. But he can't duck, which can kill some of your survival chances. Samus: Who uses the ball form in this game? Honestly I don't see why one should use it. But hey, at least the Lv3 beam can do some killing easily. Until then be happy with your floaty jumping and Short Beam. All in all, call back when things get changed around a bit (bug fixes and whatnot). I'll play it again then, because some characters just didn't get a great stick to play with. The contra guy is easy mode. Also, this game owns. Everyone has to see this game. And I mean everyone. I already beaten the game as Megaman and Contra guy. Everyone else makes things difficult for me. But hell, that's fun! I can already feel a good drunken game coming along. ____________________ __________________________________

| ...is it just me, or is Mario a little TOO fast? I'm on 2-3, and I'm trying to do my usual strategy of OH FUCK JUMPING FISH RUN RUN RUN... and I ran too fast and slammed into one, as opposed to being perfectly spaced between them. Otherwise... this game owns. Don't know who my favorite character is yet, though. ____________________  |

Yeah Mario accelerates faster than in SMB so jumping as him isn't like we all remember. But hey, who's playing as Mario except for when you gotta run? I alternate between everyone randomly. Simon is fun to play as if you can master the jumping, Bill is interesting with his spread gun and is my choice for lakitu levels, mega man is great for castles, samus for underwater and link for whatever. ____________________ |

Holy hell this is awesome, just started playing, mostly with Megaman(blame just having come off of MM10  ). It's crazy how good this is, especially for what it is.
