I would have to say multi-part archives inside a single archive. It's redundantly-redundant.

I would also like to add every single site that makes you wait for a download in hopes they will nag you enough to buy a premium. I mean, it's not like I can go to another tab or anything...

Web sites that delete old content for no reason other than it being old. Often it's still linked elsewhere.

Web sites that specify dates with no year. I don't know if that "April 27th" update is 2010 or, say, 2004.

CD collections of software or whatever that don't let you install everything at once. I don't want to run 300 separate installers for your arcade games or SimCity 4 buildings or whatever, I got the CD to have them all conveniently together.

When I go on archive.org, can find the front page of an old forum, but it has no data on the threads.

Also, my stupid thing refuses to update the auto-fill-in fields when I change my password.

"A horrible person". That's what it says. "A horrible person."

We weren't even testing for that.

While we're on the topic of SimCity:

* Plugins which have 10 or 20 dependencies. And these dependencies have other dependencies. And the dependencies are scattered across multiple websites. And every single one of them requires you to register.

Also, the new flash banners which open the advertised webpage even if you click on the close button. Who came up with such an idea?

Reminds me of trying to install RPMs in Linux. Not only did I need all the dependencies, but also they had to be the right versions. Ugh.

Programs that require command-line arguments but are GUI-based. Not popular in Windows, but way too common in the Linux world. I don't want to have to run everything from a terminal emulator.

* When I'm trying to get an older operating system working in VirtualBox, and it decides that it doesn't want to work (is looking at Windows 95C... until I disabled PAE and AMD-V in the settings =P)
* Windows Genuine Disadvantage... need I say more? Some legit copies of XP, Vista or 7 end up being marked pirated while many pirated copies end up being marked genuine... seriously, Microsoft? This is just as bad as 98FE's Internet Exploiter integration (98SE at least toned it down somewhat, same with 2000/ME and beyond)...
* Sites that require Firefox or Internet Explorer... why can't I use Chrome? I'm sure it would render just fine in Chrome anyway... (in 2004, Firefox was shut out from sites that asked for IE... now Chrome, Opera and Safari are being locked out)
* Trying to find old drivers that are no longer available on many sites... hell, I had to find my 95C CD just to get my video drivers for my old S3 card when I reinstalled 98SE!
* When a program says that the operating system is not supported yet runs fine on Windows 7... a minor annoyance, but it's nagging me that it "won't run" when it actually works just fine (Songbird gave me that error, but I gave up Songbird because it kept messing with my MP3 tags and wouldn't work with my Sansa Fuze). =/

• users who are savvy enough to understand why NoScript is a good thing to have, but hate manually enabling scripts so much that they disable it and then come whining to me when they've got some malware installed by WinFixer or whatever

• maximized browser windows on widescreen displays with more than 1280 horizontal pixels

• not being able to set the deadzone on my 360 gamepad without using something stupid like xpadder (I only use it with a PC)

• I can understand Virtual PC not supporting too much in the way of video acceleration, but good grief at least emulate hardware that can use a 24- or 32-bit color mode.

• AMD Overdrive is a neat overclocking tool if you have a software-adjustable unlocked frequency multiplier. However the link to download said tool currently gives me a 404. Thanks AMD!

• How exactly does Office 2007/2010 make me more productive than Office 95 or Office 97? Sure they got rid of the Office Assistants since then but really, ... it takes the same amount of time to type up a 5-page paper today as it did 10-15 years ago.

• The FOOK2 overhaul mod for Fallout 3 is currently in open beta. It's a really cool mod, but there are also a lot of problems with it that make the game REALLY unstable. They keep saying a new batch of hotfixes for testing is imminent, but it's now been a whole freaking month since they said they'd be out. I want a non-crashy Fallout 3 but I want this mod too. <_>;

• Flash.

• People still use IE6.

• Windows 7's non-optional, unnecessarily complicated "Libraries" system.

What about all those GET FREE DRIVERS AND DLL FILES NOW WITH PREMIUM ACCOUNT MEMBERSHIP websites, which have all kinds of ads? They're all just scams anyway. In the end they just link to manufacturer pages which are long gone or expired, so they aren't even hosting anything. I don't think there is one decent driver site or if there is it's just buried beneath so much crap.

Some day I'd like to start a driver/DLL site with no ads and everything just listed and searchable nice and cleanly, without any kind of registration other than maybe to contribute. Unfortunately, I don't know PHP, and I'm too lazy, though I do have the means to pay for the hosting, and certainly would be willing.

I'd also like to do the same with a porn video upload site, but that could get really expensive. :p

The iPhone has this feature where your playlist will shuffle if you shake the device. This feature is actually turned on by default. I was going crazy having my songs repeatedly skip whenever I would dare walk while listening to music. Of course I've since turned this off, but it still took way too long to figure out what the problem was. A little pop-up warning about the shaking gimmick would have been nice.

Oh! I hate how Google will put "live tweets" on the top of certain search results, without any way to disable them. How is this useful to anyone? If I wanted to search inane sound bites, I'd go to the god damn twitter site.

This is why I use Yahoo, although that dumb Earth questions thing they put on search.yahoo.com and the search assistant also bug me over there.

When you install a new program or game and something doesn't work right... then you remember you're using Widows 7 now and have to change the shortcut to "Run as Administrator"...

When some flash/shockwave games are slow and choppy when run in Chrome but tend to run just fine in IE8... I don't want to use IE8 for your stupid game, just make it work better in Chrome!

When my laptop's main OS fails to boot up correctly, fails to wake up from sleep correctly, fails to quit a program correctly, or fails to shut down correctly for no good reason. Excuse me, yes, there should be a desktop here, I need those icons.

My computer prefers to troll me by freezing up solid, leaving all the icons there, but not responding to ANY commands.

When I install something that seems legitimate and it ends up being spamware, forcing me to completely reinstall Windows XP.

Hasn't happened in a while, but when it did happen it always sucked. I would have to reinstall the OS, then all my programs like Photoshop, MS Office, etc. And then have to go through 6-8 CDs to install whichever the most recent MMO I was playing at the time...

Ooof. That happens to this thing, too.

@Orlandu: That's why I always verify whatever it is I'm installing through a quick search. There are too many fakes and scams nowadays.
