I drank one around 4 (in the afternoon) and I'm still going strong as dawn is breaking outside. It is quite beautiful. The dawn and the consciousness I have.
Note: one should not drink a whole energy drink if one wishes to get any sleep...
But it's the weekend, so I don't care.
Edit/ update: 9:00 AM now. Effects are fading fast. But it was good while it lasted
Drinking energy drinks in a cubicle was a bad idea, it's hard enough to be productive in there when you're not tempted to spontaneously start shaking the keyboard for no good reason
For me, they do nothing. Here's the typical reaction of me drinking an energy drink
6:30am - feeling really tired from going to bed at 1:00am after playing WoW for 5 hours
7:00am - get to work still feeling really tired
7:05am - go down to cafeteria to get breakfast, see energy drink and get it thinking it will help
7:09am - energy drink downed
7:30am - still really tired
8:00am - still really tired
9:00am - still really tired, wish I had saved myself $3 by just splashing cold water on my face to wake up
1.5h sleep + Red Bull / Monster = I'm good to go for quite a while, actually. I tend to fall out a bit later at night if I'm not actively involved in something - and sometimes even then, I'll doze off a bit. Really pisses my mother off.

I'll really stretch out my energy drink consumption to where I'll only down one can in a week or so. It gives that boost I need, but not kill my wallet.
Stuff like that used to make me really twitchy....but now I'm so addicted to caffeine that nothing too special happens, even after I've downed a RedBull. NOS is pretty good and DAMMMNNN I felt THAT when it kicked in.......

So horridly expensive. I'll buy one if I ABSOLUTELY NEED TO BE AWAKE FOR THE NEXT HOUR and nothing else will do it (e.g. final exam and I haven't slept), but otherwise, meh.
