I throw all of my loose change into a container and then never touch it again. I have no interest in working out exactly how much something is going to cost me and then finding the exact change to pay with, I just use bills which result in me getting even more change that I will probably never use . I probably should see how many dollars I can make out of all of the change that I've collected though, it would probably add up to a fairly good amount .

When I worked at Dunkin Donuts and got lots of change for tips, I would drop it in a big bucket just inside our front door after work. Every so often I'd take it down to the bank (which counted it for free).

We would joke that if a robber ever came into the house, they would try to steal the bucket (it was in plain sight), but would then break their backs trying to run off with it. It would get flipping heavy!

Now though, I keep change in my wallet, and I normally know about how much something is going to cost. I start fishing the change out BEFORE I get to the register, so I don't hold up the line. I hate it when people do that

When I worked at McDonald's, I could usually grab about $.50 every night from people who dropped change in the drive-thru, and another 15-25 cents from people who didn't want their change. I'd put it in a jar and take it to the bank to turn into bills, and put the money towards going to A-Cen in the spring. My record was 38 bucks. Last year, it was 8 bucks. The trials of having a real job.

I usually just throw it on the desk. I've probably got $5+ in change on my desk under papers and wallet and cell phone because I don't like carrying coins in my wallet. It makes it too bulky and difficult to close.
