In two weeks their stores will enter liquidation. If you have one near you, this might be a good chance to get a few gaming goodies.

First Play-N-Trade, now Game Crazy... it seems like all that's left around here is GameStop (and I hate GameStop for personal reasons... that I won't describe in detail here =/) and some independent game stores (like the one I used to work at...)

The sad thing about GameStop is that they refuse to trade anything older than PS2 and GameCube... (at least around here, they don't even accept GBA games anymore) =(

Man, growing up my city had two local gaming shops, game crazy, eb games, babbages, funcoland.. now it's just a bunch of gamestops. Two of them are in the same damn mall.

I hate gamestop, they are shitty. :/

1. You can't get old games there.
2. You can't get new games at a good price there.
3. You can't get any 3ed part hardware beside their own brand.
4. They sell used games for about the same price as new games yet give you around 20% of the new price when you trade in.
5. They are never informed on release dates or info about coming games and such. (Though, this is a wide problem in most gaming stores in Sweden I have noticed.)
6. Some times old games are scratched, yet they don't take them in if they have one single scratch. (???, how do they even manage this?)

And yeah, I kinda dislike them... for the reasons above.
(Keep in mind that some parts are personal experiences and such...)

Gamestop is crud. With this, no good gaming stores offline remain. I suggest to anyone who has the choice to refuse to buy from Gamestop and just shop exclusively online.

Haha, Spokane's Northtown Mall has two GameStops too, not even that far away from each other.

It's like the Starbucks of gaming. Shitty and overpriced

Gamestop are everywhere here. When I worked as an assistant, there was an EB across the street from the GameStop that I worked at. Once they bought EB, that store became a GameStop.

I remember getting my SNES at a FuncoLand near Port Huron. Everyone said FuncoLands suck, but that one actually was pretty cool, this was around 2000 and they had NES games. Now, GameStop won't even stock 5th generation games, apparently.

I guess they figure people will just use ebaY for really old stuff.

If money for me gets better, I would love to open up a retro gaming store. One that would sell old school and some new school games as well. Shame there's very little retro gaming stores anymore.

Ooh, can I open up a Seattle branch of it? I'd like a store that sells everything from Odyssey/Home Pong all the way up to say 5th-generation (N64/PS1/Saturn) games, systems, and accessories. And has in-store units that people can play and try out games with.

Seriously I don't think I have what it takes to totally run a business. I've thought of it though.

This is why I buy from Wal-Mart, hehe. Almost all game stores are overpriced. The only reason I go to them is for the occasional package or promo they run. Can't say I'm shocked that they're going under. They didn't give that great of value for trades except for current stuff and they're used systems were overpriced.

Yep, one upstairs, one downstairs. What's sad is that both were originally owned by different companies: the one upstairs was a Software Etc., the one downstairs was a Babbage's. Hooray for corporate mergers!

Umm...you'd have some really stiff competition. Say hello to Pink Godzilla Gorilla.

I didn't even realize they opened an arcade. I NEED GAS AND SPENDING MONEYS RIGHT NOW
