I came into an argument today with someone over IRC about economics and politics. (By all means I know very little about it.)

He kept going on and on about something which was not what I wanted to say in the first place. And when I said I got my information from a book I read at school he was dead set that it was wrong and he was right. So I asked him to citate his source so I could read up, but NOOOOOOO, he said I should go and look it up myself. It's just ag sgjhsgjkghi


I hate people who can't even fathom the fact that they might be wrong. Most of the times when I take part of an argument I try to take the most logical side, regardless of what I thought when I first went into it. But arguing to someone who refuses to even see that they might be wrong is like arguing to a brick wall, it won't change no matter what you say to it.

About said argument, we went into about inflation and deflation as he kept saying that the government is not part of the economics as they don't make a product or some shit like that. So I wanted to make deflation as an example of when the government should save/spend money to improve the economics. And he kept saying that no matter how hard the government tries to regulate deflation and inflation it won't help. So I said that's bullshit as the tops and bottoms have both been smaller ever since we tried to regulate it. I even later on linked a graph showing it from the Wikipedia article, I don't think he even looked at it!

People like him just pisses me off so much!

Sure I might be wrong, but clearly he is not 100% right here. And I just want to know what's correct rather then you keeping to shout in my face your reasons why I'm wrong regardless of what I say. V_v;

Some people are just trolls, and then many fall into an infinite loop when presented with any type of argument. They say "X is true because Y is true". When you demonstrate that Y is false, they say "X is true because Y is true". It only ends when they finally get so pissed off that you're not accepting their logic that they just leave.
