I don't mind if the enlarged pixels of the whole drawing are all squares. If, by enlarging, some pixels are squished together, the proportions just seem off to me and I don't like it. Having a single row of enlarged pixels being wider than the others looks bad to me.

If I sprite and need to enlarge an image, it's always by 2x and such, unless it's just a background and not a sprite, in which case I just smooth it; if it's a sprite and can't do a whole-number zoom, I try and redraw faithfully the sprite.

Anyway, from what I could hear of the music in the clip... Sounds like they're keeping the same style that the 4th-gen games use. Makes enough sense, I guess.

Regarding the video, Japanese TV personalities have Mt. Dew powering their endocrine system. That being said, they were actually getting more excited over the city than the walking around

I'm kinda hoping having Pokemon follow you around returns at least as an option. I was weary about it at first but if it was an optional feature I think it would be an awesome thing to have as a standard Pokemon game feature.

I'm hoping they use a different type triangle this time around, as I'm sick of Fire/Water/Grass for once...

The left one could be Ice, the middle one Ground, and the right one Steel. Ice/Ground/Steel would be a cool type triangle... however, in that case, they really need to make the first gym Ground, to give Ice more of an advantage early on and Steel the disadvantage. =P

[Edit: Does anyone else notice how the left starter looks a bit like Froslass? Maybe that's why I thought of Ice...]
