Only fieldtrip I had that was notable enough to be remembered was the 8th grade end-of-the-year trip to St. Augustine. We saw Ripley's and went on a ghost tour at the lighthouse!

I remember that when I went to a kindergarten, I found it weird that all the kids went sleep after lunch, because I though "Why go sleep now, there's still a whole day?? I'd like to play some more?? Hey mum don't drag me home, I want to play with the colorful-ish blocks!".
To this day, I don't know why everyone suddenly wanted to sleep. Maybe I was hyperactive!
I do remember I knew the alphabet and basic math already, though. When I got to first class, I already could add and subtract and found it weird and very easy that the teacher started with "what number is bigger then". I once wrote infinity in a test and the teacher didn't take it so the next time I just wrote 99999999 (or -99999999, even though we didn't learn negative numbers). Yeah.

I was unofficially skipped up from 4th to 5th grade for being too smart for my peers to understand anything I was saying.

Eventually I went to independent study and completed high school in 2 years, finding public schooling to be a hilarious joke as far as difficulty went.

My Kindergarten was only 3 hours a day with no naptime, but I've heard of naptime at schools and wondered the same kind of thing. I didn't start napping often until I became a sleep-deprived college student.

I was always itching to go home though. At home, we had much more interesting toys (an NES, a C64...) and at school I'd get picked on and beat up.

Happy Earth Day, everyone

Happy Earth Day... by the way, I've been using CFL bulbs for a while now... they last much longer and use much less energy. =D

Unfortunately, I can't really shut off my computer at night since I run a server 24/7, though...

I've used fluorescent bulbs since 2006 or so to cut power consumption (and lower my electric bill). My parents actually installed some of those long fluorescent lights usually seen in schools/businesses in 1 of their old houses.

We have florescent tube lights in the kitchen and florescent bulbs in the majority of the other lights. When the old ones go out, we replace with them with florescent ones. We also have laptops and turn them off whenever we aren't using them. Thank god for windows 7. My start up time is only about 20 seconds.

Omg what happened today here while I was gone, unless some one is playing a silly prank, I'm not even gonna get involved in this silly dramatic mess, I already had a tough day at work today, so much road jobs and I barely eaten lunch today.

Oh, and happy earth day folks!

I believe its one of those days when we must keep our earthly environment clean, unless I didn't get the joke behind this or if this really was a serious question? Sorry, I hadn't gotten any good sleep last night and I'm still burnt out from the previous days.

On another note, I can't say that I'll be posting much today, not to mention that theres crap going on in general chat that I don't wanna get involved in, and judging from the post it seems someone is really obsessed with xk, or he/she is just sucking up to xk, my opinion anyways.

But anyways, I got my State ID card renewed a month before the actual month I need to get my card renewed in, and now I can wait 6 years instead of 4 years.

Lunaria is Swedish. Maybe Earth Day isn't celebrated in Sweden or has a different name or date?

But yeah, you're supposed to be more environmentally conscious and such on Earth Day. Makes me wish we had recycling here. It might be street pickup and thus not available for this high-rise, or having to go to a recycling centre far away. In some cities, there are public recycling bins on the sidewalks and such.

You could be right about that, I didn't think about it until you said that, Terra.

And I think I'll let myself fall behind in the JCS today, I'm not up to posting and I see something already happening in general chat anyways, so I may just back out because of the chaos happening from what I'm seeing...

I picked up some garbage that was blowing around on the sidewalk here at work. Thats the gist of earth day really, clean up after yourself and preserve our home.

I did some work of my own with that too, Orlandu, since I did need to actually clean up around the store building today, well near the end of the day anyways.
