I must confess that I do get nervous in large crowds of people when in huge places like grocery stores or shopping malls and I haven't been to a shopping mall in ages because of that very reason. I still wouldn't like being totally alone for too long of a period of time though because I'm only gonna feel isolated and left out and possibly lost my mind (which hasn't actually happened before), but yeah I think talking to an actual person would be nice. I still respect the decisions of others preferably being alone though since that does feel quite comforting to some extent, I guess I have a balance between being utterly alone to being in a hugely crowded place.

When I'm alone? Like shit. I hate being alone. I wind up listening to depressing music, drinking, and playing WoW or TF2 to pass the time if I'm not doing homework. I still need a girlfriend, but thankfully, I have good friends to hang out with on a semi-regular basis.

Paulguy's Post configuration
I am often alone nowadays. It does get to me but I don't focus on it much. I would prefer to have maybe a couple other people in comfortable with around somethimes, though. But I do like alone time.

Hanging out with people online is pretty comfortable because I don't feel like I need to keep a conversation going and I can take a lot f time to think of something to say or to form a sentence. That is surprisingly helpful, and makes the situation much less stressful.

As for large crowds, I hate them. I can't stand large parties or anything and when I'm at the store or something I tend to avoid being around people and don't feel good if I'm crowded.

I'm weird. :/

You mean physically alone? Like, nobody else in the house but you?

In that case, for the most part it feels nice just not to have to bother with people telling you to take the dog out every half an hour or being able to blast your music.

In residence, I did get a little upset/depressed when I was in my room by myself, especially in the evenings when no one was around to hang out with.

I have no problem with being alone, I like trying to relax and think of... well, nothing. Maybe I'll grab a book.
I don't define being online as being alone, because I'm not. I have tons of chat windows open, along with a few IRC channels, and forums. Thousands of people on my fingerprints. I wouldn't call that being alone!
Most of the people I'd call friends nowadays I speak with online. I'm very different online then "IRL", really! I used to be very extrovert..ic (?? what), but over the last few years, I've changed gradually. I still am pretty asocial, but at least I don't speak as much as before.
I don't like being in crowded places either.

.. I don't have as many real-life friends as I used to have.. Mostly because they've changed a lot and I don't like their personalities now. I don't know if I should consider them friends :/

E: Uh, sorry. I went a bit far there!

I like to have "me" time. I don't mind going out with friends, but I'm really not that much of a social person in big settings. I like to hang out with small groups of friends or have get-togethers at their houses, but in large settings like bars or clubs... I just feel awkward.

Personally, I really like my alone time. I focus on my writing and art, which makes me happy and more enjoyable to be around. Too much social interaction makes me frustrated and that frustration usually bleeds over into all other aspects of my life.

For some odd reason, I feel happy when truly alone, as if suddenly there are no more people to bother me with random things, and I can just sit around programming things.

But on the other hand I also like the company of good friends or decent family members from time to time, so one cannot really determine what I prefer more; ideally it'd be 50-50, as the enjoyment of being alone fades eventually, just as talking to those people wears out its welcome eventually, if there is no break.

I can stand being alone for long periods of time, since I tend to do most of my socializing on the Internet anyway. If I shut myself in long enough I do start feeling lonely enough to want to do something about it, even if it really means going outside for a little while.

I know the feeling, Gabu, exactly the way I'm feeling right now.

Right now I'm also feeling left out, since it seems that everyone today is having fun without me, no matter if its online of at work or anywhere else, not like its gonna take me 31 minutes to get anywhere anyways.

You're not missing anything here. I'm currently fighting with my brain trying to figure out how to get some work done.

And that's not fun at all.

Work is definitely no fun, even for me when I'm at my job, work can be stressful, and I try to perform my tasks on time when I'm at work since I can't afford to fall behind.

And you're probably right that I'm not missing anything here, must just be my paranoia as usual.

Believe me, be alone is not that great! I have been alone for a life, especially in Middle school and the middle of high school (thanks to Grisbaman or whatever). Now i am more in company, but i am still a bit alone and i want to meet more new people, especially girls <=)
