What do you do with small-valued coins?

I generally keep quarters to feed to those laundry machines, but smaller coins I roll up in the proper amounts and deposit into my savings account. I've done that with quarters recently too because I won't be dealing with these machines much longer.

And yes, I do pick up coins off the ground, even just $0.01, because they add up over time.

Haha I have the habit of picking up coins from the ground, and I mostly find pennies too as I walk about.

And yes, I keep the change i collect off the ground and what not, after all, every little bit helps.

Coins weigh down my wallet something awful --

I have a habit of throwing them on the floor of my room and just leaving there;
it kinda can get to be a lot sometimes

It's an enigma
----------------------------------------------------
It collects in my pocket until I start deciding to use change to pay for things, like sodas from a machine, or that x-dollar and 5, 10 cent thing where I can just whip out a dime or nickel and say "here, save yourself the trouble of making change"

Consequently, I'll have somewhere between 1-5 dollars in change in my pocket at all times.

I would have chosen both "save it and take it to the bank" and "pay exact change" (I tend to waver between the two), but multi-voting is disabled.

I lose it and later find it a few years later in a small pile of miscellaneous stuff under my bed.

Subsequently, I usually wind up losing it again, and the cycle repeats.

...However, I don't get a lot of loose change, so "small" is the best word to describe this pile of change.

Put 'em in a jar that will someday be full, then I head to bank and deposit it all.

I chose "throw away" in the sense that I leave the coins behind in places that other people are sure to find. :3

I pick up loose change whenever I see it, and I keep all of my change in a change collector, so I can roll them up and take it to the bank when my box is full. =)

I collect change (both from purchases and the ground ) and save it until the next time I go to the bank. I generally don't bother carrying change with me for long periods of time, so it's rare that I'll spend it while making a purchase.

It used to be that I would put my loose change in a coin holder that had marks on the side telling you how much you had based on the length of the coins (granted you had to put the coins in the right slots first). Then once you hit 40 or 50 you can simply just move the coin roll paper over the coins you want with relative ease.

But now they're all just in a big pile. :/

We usually would just throw it in the ash tray area in our car, but now with 2 kids we're saving it in 2 separate jars. Hopefully we'll be able to save it till they are 16 and be able to buy them each a car. When I worked for Ashley Furniture, we had 1 couple come in and they had saved their change for 2 years and were able to buy an entire living room set in cash. It was like $2500 and thats just 2 years. So if we can save it for 16 years, that should be several thousand each and enough to buy 2 cars outright.

I used to have a coin holder for nickels, quarters, and dimes, I won one at an arcade in the mall, but that was in 1995 when I was still only a kid, I used that often to put all my change into, I am not sure what happened to my good old coin holder though, since I no longer have it.

Today, some coins did come in handy for me, namely the quarters that I had, and there's plenty more change where that came from.

I just collect it in my wallet and then pay exact amounts once in a while. Works great.

I *want* to bring these two big jars of change I have to a Coinstar but the supermarket which has one is closed for renovations and won't be open until next month. I hope the Coinstar's still there...

So at the moment I'm letting it pile up.

I used to use the Coinstar machines and get online gift certificates with them to avoid the 8.9% fee that Coinstar charges. Seems to me I used it to buy a bunch of CDs.
