I've taken a good liking to books recently mainly because I can read them for free, since I am lacking video game money. I've had some really good reads lately.

I have started to read Lord of the Flies(which is quite the easy read after reading The Return of the Native) and dang, it is already pretty dark. I like how Golding sets off character personalities from the start and how he made the school boys respect Ralph because he had the conch shell. Makes you go in and think Oh, at their school someone obviously had a megaphone or something that made him/her loud and they were obviously a teacher or some high guy in authority.

I've also started to read TLotR series, though I'm not reading The Hobbit yet. I watched the movies on TBS Easter weekend with BL telling me the books are much more descriptive. I must say I do like them. Currently halfway through Two Towers.

So you guys/girls run into any good reads lately?

I used to read a lot when I was younger. Over the years I started to read less and less. Now it takes me about half a year to get through a book.

Hubby, on the other hand, loves to read and he reads pretty fast.

Few weeks ago, I was reading some harry potter books, though I stopped at the beginning of the 4th book, I'm dieing to finish reading the first six of those books so I can read the final book before the final harry potter movie is released.

Other books I read are goosebumps and animorphs books as a child and I have read the first four Twilight book, yes the twinight books that have Isabella and Edward.

I read the Earth's Children series by Jean Auel at a young age, and I still have the original books from when I was around age 11...

I can read just about anything, but some of my favorite books are The Lovely Bones, 1984, and the Narnia series... (I used to like the Twilight series, but I decided it was ridiculous anyway... and never got into Harry Potter either. =P)

Haha I remember the babysitter books too when I was younger.

Though for a while I was mainly collecting goosebumps books, but that didn't last very long since I lost my collection of books during a move trip to a different house, the only book that I did save however was goosebumps book #6 "Let's Get Invisible", but every other goosebumps book was lost.

Not sure what happened to all of my animorphs books though, I only had the first 21 books of that series anyways.

When I had dialup, I read a lot. Once I got broadband and lived alone, I could just use the Internet all day, and then I got into biking and such and had to buy my own groceries. Also, in high school I'd often read at the end of class or whatever, but in college usually they fill up the time and if they don't (common in long classes) I can just go home, plus I can bring my laptop to some classes.

I love the obscure Green-sky Trilogy by Zilpha Keatley Snyder, which spawned the C64 game Below the Root. I'd also read LOTR, some Star Wars and other science fiction (2001: A Space Odyssey being a favourite), anything by Dave Barry, and some more obscure authors.

As a kid I read nothing but Animorphs and Goosebumps. And the Redwall series.

Later on, I got into Tamora Pierce's books. I lived, ate, and breathed books.

Now, if I read something, it will most likely be manga. No "real" books for me.

I freakin' loved Redwall back in Elementary School. Mice with swords and their own civil lives=win.

I've read Twilight because one of my friends told me to. Didn't enjoy it at all. The author's way of writing is good, but man do I hate the story.

I could've died while reading The Return of the Native. It just got so boring at times, though I am thinking of pursuing the life career of being a reddleman. Heck I already am red.

I read a lot the past five years but abruptly stopped this last school year because of a mix of lots of school work and wanting to be on Jul. The only books I read now are the ones forced in class, even though I read them in the summer already by boredom.

Haven't read the Twilight series; my mom's done it for me, thanks.

I got started reading with The Hobbit. From there, I read through the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. After that, I got reading more and more, I started with the Star Wars series that take place after Return of the Jedi. I think theres over 40 books now and I've read them all. I haven't gotten much in to the prequel books or the comics, but I read all the post empire ones. I also like R A Salvatore and read some of his work in the Forgotten Realms universe. After that came Eragon and the following books by Paolini. Now I've been reading Raymond Feist with the Magician series. I can say I read a lot, but mostly limited to Scifi and Fantasy. I did read a few murder mystery type novels, like law and order stuff. I don't even remember what they were called or who it was by. But then back to scifi and fantasy.
