I had one (1) message in Discord deleted and proceeded to make a huge, huge mess about how it was a violation of free speech and how moderators are supposed to be spam janitors and nobody should have the right to tell me not to talk about school shootings

Mental powers start to dwindle at 27 after peaking at 22, marking the start of old age, US research suggests.

Oh shit! I have less than months to learn anything! How else will I manage to live in the world?

Fucking scientists, how do they work? And I don't want to talk to them, them motherfuckers lying and getting me pissed!

Mental powers diminishing after 27?

I must be losing lots of precious time with my rapidly aging body.
Then again, I feel as though I don't have any intelligence left, but then how am I still typing this message from my iPhone? Guess I will enjoy whatever intelligence I have left, though I probably don't deserve to.

And soon this year Ill be turning 26 years old.. :/

I can't learn things as easily as I used to be able to, and I'm not at that peak yet.

I've also heard that because time feels like it moves faster as you get older, half your perceived life is over around age 26, and I saw another figure somewhere of it being age 10.

My time may have already came for me, since I've been so clueless about lots of stuff, then again maybe its the stress of me thinking about those fake hurtful people from that virtual world SL.

And there probably isn't anything left for me to enjoy if I have no intelligence left, I can't even succeed with certain tasks that I'm not gonna disclose here in public.

Meh, I have intelligence to spare. Not to mention I can just keep cramming knowledge in there. It might not take as quickly, but hell if I'm going to let some silly study which could have significant statistical errors tell me what I can and can't do.

So are our parents dumbasses? Mah, all commonplaces, superstitions, lies.
Also, many people don't have a mind starting from 10 years old.

Hmm, let's see...I finished Legend of the Blob Bros. 2 in 2002 (I was 22), released the last demo of Super Mario Odyssey in 2004, stopped working on it entirely somewhere around 2007, and today (29, going on 30) I can barely hack my way out of a paper bag. Yep, that sounds about right.

In nine out of 12 tests the average age at which the top performance was achieved was 22.

Didn't Brain Age tell us this like, years ago?

Oh man, I better use these next years wisely...

So, uh, shouldn't there be more (and diversified) tests anyways? I'm sure they forgot something to check, and there should really be more than 2000 people tested.

I have a test that's coming up for my A+ Certification, I'm studying really hard, regardless of my mind's shitty condition.. :/

I hope my mind will not fail me, but then again computers are piss easy for me so I shouldn't have any problems whatsoever.

The real question is, though, what does it all mean? I've seen lots of people develop an incredible aptitude for things despite them being well past mid-life. It's one thing to say "brain decline begins at 27" and another for there to be actual consequences and clear-cut signs of a decline.

To say that decline starts at a certain age is also another way of saying that it's your peak, so is a 20 year old less mentally apt than a 27 year old?

I don't think anyone is saying that anyone over their twenties is braindead, but at the same time, I don't think it's a coincidence that many academics, say in math, establish their most influential work at a rather early age--just like athleticism or beauty contests, math is a "young man's game", something which requires a sort of intensity that people rarely maintain or develop in old age.

However, just like practically anyone could deadlift 200~300lbs well into their 50s or 60s given a healthy diet and enough persistence, I don't think too many people are in danger of being unable to do something because of brain decline.

I'm 26, yet I still feel as smart as I was around age 18 or so... this makes me wonder what I'll be like when I'm about 50 years old. =P

You'll learn more useful things actually doing the assignments.

I'm sure all it really means is you'll learn a little slower and have a harder time remembering things. Then again, my father really worries me sometimes...

(I'm near 23, but time just feels like it rushes by... sometimes I feel like I'm well beyond that. Society is depressing.)
