Does anyone else use them at all?

I found The Hunger Site several years ago back when I followed El Goonish Shive (it was linked from there) and I click on each of their 6 sections almost every day. They even have games you can play on there too. There's also Free Rice, which donates food to the hungry based on your answers to vocabulary questions.

I like them because even someone like me with low income can help the world I've donated actual money/stuff of my own before too, usually loose change (although I save most of it) and old clothes.

Free Rice was insanely popular in my high school. I've screwed with it only a bit since then, though... I probably should more. :/

Nope.

Could be because I think they might be a scam trying to give my computer a virus or something.

I remember I told my 8th grade English Teacher of FreeRice and the rest of the vocabulary days, which we had once a week, were spent on the website. She apparently was quite fond of it.

They're not as far as I know; they've been around forever.

Dunno how tangible the results are.

I remember considering writing a sort of free-rice IRC bot a few years back, then the interest in the site vanished faster than my motivation usually does.
