Are you a fan of bugs? Or do they bother you so much that you have to squash them?

While out dealing with some roots, I found two grubs. It was interesting to watch them as they try to bury themselves back into the ground.

Sorry for all the pictures. I thought it was interesting.

And then when I went home and I went to check the air in my bike tires, I saw a lizard who thought that I didn't see him:

I find bugs gross. Butterflies and dragonflies are an exception, I don't really consider them "bugs" even though they're insects.

As a kid I was so grossed out by worms, especially night crawlers, that I'd try to stay inside when it rains because the worms come out.

It really depends on the bug for me. I take a delight in saving worms from being squashed but take great joy in killing flies, ants, and those weird box bugs that fly around and manage to get everywhere in my house. However I do find the creatures fascinating to learn about. For instance, there is a species of ant that can eat a fully grown bull rhino to the bone in only one day...that's pretty awesome in my opinion.

Soooooo cuuuuuuuuuute.

Anyway, I have nothing against bugs, except ones that bite/sting me. When I was little, I'd find ants or worms and play with them in my hands for a while, just watching them hang out or walk around. This is what happens when you don't have Internet and there's nothing to watch on TV! :p

I like most bugs. As a kid, I even had a bug birthday party, with pin the spot on the ladybug and a caterpillar cake (made of cupcakes and licorice).
I loved fireflies, and my sister and I would catch them when we were little. I also would pick up those daddy longlegs spiders by one leg and carry them around. It would freak my mom out. Good memories.

Similar case here, I normally don't care much for bugs, but in the case of the Aggravating Mosquito or the Ant which Intrudes In Your House (and maybe the Spider as well), there will be death. And by that I mean bugs that trespass in my home are killed in some method, bug that live outside usually are not. So if I see an ant inside my house it gets killed relatively quickly, but an ant I just happen to see while in a college class will usually occupy my attention as I watch it cross the room from one end to the other...wasting my time...

In short: Intruder bugs are a no, otherwise they're fine (except for contact, which mosquitoes love to do)

Bugs are the reason I say spring and summer are the worst seasons. Especially shit that flies. (Electric lawnmowers are actually SECOND to that, believe it or not)

I can tolerate ground bugs, though, to a fair extent (provided they're not inside a house or something, and fairly small.)

My hatred is directed at wasps and invading ants, both of which I smash to bits.

The rest is fine, although mosquitoes also often get punched/poisoned/locked out if they annoy me too much.

When I was really young, we were on a road trip and made a stop at a gas station. We got out, saw a phone booth, and decided to explore it. Guess where a hornet nest was? Yup. Right underneath the seat in the booth. We shut the door behind us and everything. Ouch.

Fortunately, the people at the gas station had this happen multiple times before. They had anti-venom stuff and bandages. I don't know why they just didn't remove the nest.

Yow, worst I did was step on a wasp with my bare foot when I was young, painful, but not that painful by comparison.

Once I was walking along and felt something squishy under my foot. It turns out that a live slug got between my foot and my sandal.

Eww.

I've had roaches here, and my mom's house had some nasty ant infestations.

Generally, I don't like any insects or arachnids (spiders are NOT insects, remember), but I think butterflies are pretty cute, and dragonflies are pretty awesome...

Bee stripe patterns are pretty cool too, but I don't like bees...

Dragonflies, Butterflies, Praying Mantis are awesome and cool looking. These are the bugs I can deal with. However those damn house centipedes scare the living hell out of me. Seriously, nothing beats seeing one of these as you are about to go into the shower. I then spend most of my shower making sure none of his friends are near.

Wasps, hornets and bees are stupid as well.

Bugs like spiders don't really bother me, the bugs that leech on however do bother me.

Speaking of which, I hadn't seen any bugs around here yet, they most likely didn't come out of hibernation around here since it still feels so cold outside. :/

I had a box where I raised four caterpillars. Became cocoons and butterflies and whatnot.

A year later I found the same box with exponentially more caterpillars, and other things that were eating them.

Why the box was still in the house in the first place I don't know.

But anyways, I like many species of insects... It just happens the ones I hate and have a phobia of are more common and the ones that are more parasitic and live with humans.

Bugs are the ugliest little creatures on the face of this earth, and I absolutely love them.

During my childhood, if I was outside and if I wasn't playing a game, I was probably looking for/at bugs. I would never kill them, but I would occasionally poke them with a stick or something of the like. Out of all of the local bugs, though, my favorite insects have always been antlions, especially their larvae. (Adult antlions are kinda like dragonflies, while the larvae dig those neat little sand traps.)

Despite my interest in them and great hesitation to kill them, however, the dastardly duo (AKA: cockroaches and ants) are shown no mercy once they enter my house. (Ants often became food for my pet antlions.) I'm sure I'd also be willing to kill spiders, bees, wasps, etc. if they ever became a problem, but they haven't so far.
