(Note: for Windows only now... if anyone figures out how to change them on Mac and Linux, feel free to add it here)
OK, if you've used Google Chrome, you probably know that you can customize many aspects of the browser, including extensions, themes, and custom themes and user scripts. However, did you also know that you can actually customize the "Aw, Snap" error page in Chrome? Note: This requires a resource editor, such as Resource Hacker or XN Resource Editor. 1) If Chrome is running, exit Chrome before editing any files. 2) Open chrome.dll and find "25333" under BINDATA. Although it will appear as hex, you can import any PNG image into this using the "Replace Other Resource" menu in Resource Hacker, setting "Resource Type" to "BINDATA" and "Resource Name" to "25333". Screenshot 3) Open Screenshot 4) Open Google Chrome and load a tab, type about:crash into the address box, and see your custom "Aw, Snap" error in action. Screenshot (Unfortunately, I haven't found the location for the "Aw, Snap" favicon yet, so you're stuck with it for now...) ____________________ YouTube • DeviantArt Farewell my faithful OS... and Windows 2000 goeth into the... night! =( |
