Actually, on my computer it seems to work more slowly in Opera than it does in Firefox

It reminds me somewhat of screen savers back in the days when I used to use them.

Mmmmmmmmmm, particles!

And I can see them just fine in Google Chrome. Seems to go at a normal speed for me.

Around 12~14fps in Chrome, 20~22fps in Opera, and only 5fps in Firefox... and it doesn't work in Internet Failer. =P

Paulguy's Post configuration
Using opera 10.52 in linux on a athlon XP 2500+ and geforce FX 5200: 4FPS. It also breaks when the particles go below a certain point.

#51
9-10 in Firefox, 26-32 in Opera

And thanks to Internet Explorer's failure, I know <canvas> exists now (it's HTML 5, so that'd explain why)

Almost a solid 15 fps in Chrome (hiccuped once and dropped to 14 fps when it got about midway down the page), and Firefox...erm...I couldn't get an average reading, it was lagging and stuttering like hell.

Kind of reminds me of the animation for Protect in the 3rd generation Pokemon games.

Loaded fine in Chrome but looked granulated. Is this from the Chrome gif/png resize crap or just how the effect is? I don't have Opera installed right now, might have to get it for occasions such as this.

*a wave of green inches its way down the screen, like a Matrix screensaver in super-slow-motion*
FPS: 1
PARTICLES: 1000

Well I bet it looks neat anyway.

As for me, I held a ticking watch up to one ear and looked at the particles move. My FPS was low though (around 3-4) so I don't know how the 20+ FPS people did it.

If its processor based, the core i5 in my laptop pulls it off well. In chrome its a little bit choppy but I downloaded Opera and it was a lot smoother, almost double the frame rate. It's too fast for a watch to count and time. I tried fraps but it didn't overlay the FPS on the browser window.

It's, uh, supposed to print the FPS below the particles...

[edit]
Just tried this on my laptop, and I had to scroll down to see it.

Ah, my 1366x768 screen resolution is working against me wish I had a better LCD on this laptop. Its got power, but not the screen.

I had to scroll down, hehe. 14-15 FPS in Chrome with a spike up to 18. 25-26 FPS in Opera spiking up to 28.
