The whole prospect of it was just way too out of place for me. I guess I haven't missed much since G/S/C... and I'm glad, too.

Maybe the new generation will attempt to fix this by going even "deeper..." oh god.

So people are wondering if we're going to see a new Light type as well as a stronger focus on Dark types. Zorua and Zoroark are both Dark and were the gen 5 reveals. A Light type could make sense considering the games are Pokemon Black and White. And I'd say we're overdue for new types considering dark and steel came out 10 years ago.

I seriously have to think everyone for FINALLY pinpointing what was wrong with the newer generations, I couldn't do it for the life of me.

I actually didn't MIND the fourth generation too much, but the third was kinda eh with the story. (On the other hand, none of the pokémon introduced in gen4 are very memorable at all... it turns into a blur around the third for me.)

Let's hope they get more things right. HG/SS feels like a step in the right direction, even if it IS just a remake.

Heh, I would not want to be the programmer trying to balance a new type. Could very well be possible though.

Complained there was nothing new.

So Nintendo tried something new, and got nerdraged on.

People complain so much about the new games, but that's due to nostalgia, if you ask me.

Magma wanted to destroy 1 town, for the sake of more land. Now. How is this different from Rocket torturing a lake full of innocent pokemon, probably fucking with the environment around as well, just to evolve magikarp into gyarados? How is it different from rocket slashing off the tails of poor slowpoke, just for financial gain?

"Taking over the world" is their motive, right? How much insideous, evil stuff would they have to do to accomplish that?

Honestly. That 1 town could probably be evacuated too :/

I never said that I hated the RSE/PPD Games, they were just not as captivating story-wise as GSC.

Also, all of team-rockets plans never involved anything that would rewrite space time, or largely destroy landmasses.

I would not be terribly surprised if that was the next step however. :p

The types could use a bit of adjustment, though I don't know about a whole new type. It won't change the fact that Ghost, Dark and Steel are semi-uber for their lack of weaknesses.

HG/SS has it almost perfect: types make sense (except maybe Magnemite), abilities don't usually fuck you, it works well. Compare to Ru/Sa where I'd frequently be completely unable to attack because an enemy is immune to almost every type of attack I have due to its bizarre type combination, and then has Levitate or something to make my last remaining attack equally useless (if not actually healing them).

Personally I've always found the storyline to be at least good enough. Something more interesting is nice every so often, but the games are fun as it is, and I rather like how they tend to chain together several side-quest-like tasks as additional plot. (Your goal is just go beat these people up, but before you can fight this guy, you need to go across the sea and get medicine, etc.) Ultimately it's fun to go around catching and raising the critters and exploring the world regardless of exactly why, as long as the world, events, etc are well-designed.

But wasn't the volcano magma wanted to erupt in the middle of the continent? What point is there to erupting a volcano for more land when it is already surrounded by land?

The real issue at hand here is, the theme songs.

You have the Rocket songs, including the anime one, which are memorable, and rock.

Then you have the Team Wannabe songs, which generally don't get remembered and are forgotten.

Therefore, if Pokemon wants a team to be remembered, it should either be Team Rocket, or get better motivations/music.

The reason I adore G/S so much is that it was a proper sequel. That is, it expanded the universe. You got to explore Kanto two years after the events of R/B/Y and later on fight the hero of those games.

However, in later games, you have one area, and that's it. It doesn't expand.
