I was merely suggesting that maybe the game's code is correct (hence why Lunar Magic renders the animation correctly) and that the emulator is interpreting the code wrong instead.

Lunar Magic doesn't run the game code, it merely shows the player what the level and animations are supposed to look like. It is hardly "accurate".

I find it extremely unlikely that a well-known, commonly-used emulator (I assume Snes9x or ZSnes) would have a bug that causes a single tile glitch in one SMW hack. It'd have to be one hell of an edge case.

Ahhh, well sorry, I don't use Lunar Magic so when he said that the animation looked right in the program I thought the program was rendering it directly from the game (as an emulator would do).

Now that I think of it, it would be quite difficult and time-consuming (not to mention impractical) to do that ...

If you turn up LM's animation rate to 60fps, you'll probably see what you're seeing in the emulator.

I'm guessing you animated each 8x8 separately for some reason... one of the changes in LM 1.70 is to make ExAnimation slots animate during different game frames, to increase the number of animations that can be used. You can either move the animations to slots that run within the same frame (explained in the help file), or combine the tiles for that 16x16 animation into a single slot.

With your help I was able to figure out a way to solve my problem. When I increased the animation rate 60fps I was able to see the problem and then from there I was able to mess around with a few things and then eventually found a solution.

Thank you very much!

I found the exact same problem in my hack as Higsby. But I couldn't really figure it out, how to fix that problem, how could you do it, Higsby? I read LM's help file, but it was a bit too complex for me, maybe you can explain it a bit simpler. I also use waterfall exanimation. Yeah, I increased the frame rate to 60 fps, now I can see the problem in LM as well.

Lunar Magic 1.71 came out a couple days ago. It's got a couple bugfixes, nothing as big as 1.7, but it seems nice. Tile 25 is selectable again and the secret exit goal post bar displays right. Item Memory Index 3 is back and some other stuff too. Download at the same place as always.

Yeah, I figured there'd inevitably be a 1.71

I was actually never able to open LM's help file for some reason so I sort of figured out my own way of doing it .

First set up your waterfall animation tiles in this format:

Notice that instead of placing the tiles in their proper 16x16 formation you need to place the top two 8x8 tiles beside each other and then place the bottom two 8x8 tiles directly to the right of the top tiles.

After this open up the ExAnimations window and set it up similar to mine:

You can choose any slot that you want (and the great thing is that by doing it this way you are only going to need one slot for the entire animation), and then make sure that you set the type to "4 8x8s: 16x16. Set the number of frames to 4 and then choose the destination of your animation (the 8x8 tiles that are to the right, underneath, and underneath to the right of your destination are going to be used for your animation. So for example, since my destination is E2 my animation is also going to use E3, F2, and F3). In the frames area input the locations of the four tiles that represent the beginning for your four rows of tiles:

The order that you enter the rows in will be the order that they appear in your animation.

If you understood everything that I was talking about then your animation should be working correctly again at this point. Although if you did have trouble understand something I honestly wouldn't blame you, I had a bit trouble trying to explain what I did . If there's anything that you want me to explain a bit better then feel free to ask me and I'll see what I can do.

I hope this helps .

Wow, I never thought of this. Yeah, I guess I understood it, it works now. Thanks a lot Higsby, you helped a lot with this.
