Tile 25 is what fills all the otherwise empty space (I guess 0 would have made too much sense); you could drop it overtop of an unwanted tile produced by a large object.

Yeah, I used tile 25 a lot in SMO for various reasons, usually to mask off tiles I otherwise couldn't get rid of. If you need a tile gone, that's the one to use, since the game literally treats it as "nothing."

Well, yes, maybe for someone would be useful.
It's easy to copy tile 25 to another tile (kinda tile 345, taken randomly) so it would be usable. Capitan Obvious to the rescue!!!!

But still for blank tiles, i have got a question: what is tile 152 for? I used it for some purpose for a side hack, but i never noticed what object uses it.

I'm pretty sure #152 appears in that short time between when you hit an item block and when it's replaced with a brown used block (to fill the gap so sprites don't fall through?).

Ah, it may be, but isn't also that block created by the glitch of the coin above the question block? I mean:

Yes, it creates that block above as well, and then doesn't remove it in this case. I believe there is a patch to fix that. (There were also many patches that "fixed" it, but also prevented it from solving the problem it was put there for, i.e. sprites falling through blocks.)

The only problem that I noticed after the transition is that my waterfalls aren't animating correctly anymore.

There are a few weird things about this:

1- It looks like it's animating fine in Lunar Magic
2- All of my other extended animations are working correctly
3- Even after completely clearing out the waterfall animation information and manually adding it back in I still encounter this problem

Of course the easy answer to this problem is to just go back to using 1.65 although the new features are really going to help me out (Being able to easily get rid of the BG garbage is incredible and something tells me that I'm going to be needing the extra tile space considering that I've already filled 2.5 pages and I've only finished 2 worlds...).

I can't help with that, but I just want to say I love your item box. A static screenshot doesn't show anything wrong though, unless the tiles aren't meant to look like that...

Thanks for the compliment about the item box HyperHacker. It looks like that because the name of my hack is Super Mario Omega 2, the first one also used the same style of item box and I liked it so I decided to reuse it (I don't believe in wrecking things that are already fine the way they are, that's YouTube's policy and I have no plans of stealing it from them).

But back to the waterfall problem. The part that's being problematic is:

And this is how it should look (screenshot taken with my backup ROM):

Ah, misflipped tile? It looked neat at first but now that you point it out it doesn't look so nice anymore.

Is there a button you have to hit to save ExAnimations? back to the ROM? I forgot that all the time when doing ExGFX and Map16 at first

Higsby whatever you do don't return to 1.65 after using your rom in 1.7 it WILL NOT work right anymore. i have no clue what's causing that but I can at least give you the warning.

The 8x8 tiles animate properly in LM so I don't think that any tiles are misflipped. If anything I think that when I'm playing my hack some of the 8x8 animations are not in sync with the the other 8x8 tiles causing some tiles to appear out of place. The reason why this is happening is what I'm trying to figure out (maybe transferring everything to a new ROM would fix it? Although if I have to go that far to correct this problem then it may be a while before I get around to it ).

ExAnimations are automatically saved when you save the level and I'm making sure that I'm pressing F9 to save any Map16 modifications that I make.

Thanks for the heads up. I probably won't be returning to 1.65 anyways because the new features (and possibly even any more new features that are released in the future *crosses fingers*) are too much for me to pass up. There must be some way for me to fix this problem so I'll just continue using 1.70 in hope that I eventually find a solution.

Obviously, 1.65 doesn't know how to handle all the new stuff 1.7 adds to the ROM. You should never expect old programs to remain compatible with new data formats.

No I knew that much, I meant that I didn't know what was causing his specific problem. I'm assuming it's some inconsistency but I wouldn't know what exactly.

Higs, what animated tiles are you using? I had a similar issue once when I tried to mix using the leftover slots SMW has and trying to also use ExAnimated tiles.

I'm using tiles E2, E3, F2, and F3. I tried moving the tiles onto the new 200-2FF page although my problem still persisted.

If it looks fine in Lunar Magic, have you tried testing it in a different emulator perhaps?

That won't help since the problem would be in the game's code, not the emulator's
