So, which web browser do you prefer? I switched to Google Chrome, since I was getting tired of Mozilla Firefox always hogging my memory and crashing semi-frequently.

Prior to Firefox, I had also used Netscape 4.x and 6.x, then Mozilla Suite... I still think the best version of Firefox is 2.x, though... everything 3.0 and beyond just sucks now that I'm used to Chrome. =D

Chrome just blazes on here... in fact, Opera is a close second, but Firefox and IE are lagging behind on this computer...

Firefox. Not because I like it (it actually pisses me off with its numerous bugs and random freezing; I call it Failurefox) but because no other browser has satisfied me at all. Opera's interface really lacks, others have no decent ad blocking, user scripts/stylesheets, and other nice features I use often.

I've been using chrome few months ago, I liked it and it was fast for me too, though I don't remember what caused me to switch back to firefox those few months back. I may download chrome again, kind of getting tired a bit with firefox.

I still use Firefox as my main browser. I like Opera, I've just been too lazy to migrate everything over. I'm likely to try out Opera more if I get a new computer though, as stuff would have to be migrated anyway in that case.

I switched to Chrome around December? January? and I haven't looked back at Firefox since.

Fast to start up, fast to close down, and just fast overall.

The only thing is the multiple processes. Even with three tabs open, you would have five to seven processes running (probably depending on the extensions that you have running.)

Firefox, mainly because of its security features. I've never experienced the bugs or freezing as others have, though, so I guess that I'm a bit biased.

Also, other browsers don't have a badass Hatsune Miku theme! That's one of my favorite plugins that I've come across for Firefox, it'll be hard for me to migrate. Also, I didn't like Google Chrome at all.

Firefox, because I have never had the memory leaks, crashes, or other problems that are said to be common. (lucky me) Also because I have the poor browser ripped into something I am comfortable with.

(Also, Noscript, it rocks.)

Firefox. I have no real reason to switch since it almost never crashes. I've tried Chrome and Opera, but didn't really notice any difference in speed.

The main reason I stick with Firefox, though, is because of the extensions I use that I'd have to give up if I switched. I like them too much.

Depends on what OS I'm running, but on a Mac I'd love to use Safari (because it is extremely and awesomely fast on here,) but instead I mainly use Firefox, but only because I can selectively block site scripting with NoScript. There are good ad-blocking extensions for Safari, and I have one, but there's no substitute for NoScript as of yet.

On Windows ... I'll use whatever is handy, generally. Firefox, Opera, Chrome, etc. For varying reasons, I'll tend to avoid using any version of IE at all, if I am able. I don't end up browsing much on Windows, but when I do, it's usually with Firefox and NoScript, so ... I guess that's where my vote goes.

On Linux ... Konqueror. Why? ... because I like Konqueror.

My dependence on Firefox is entirely based on extensions, though. The browser is ... all right otherwise, but it eats up more RAM than it should, and is pretty poky, even at the best of times.

Paulguy's Post configuration
I like Opera, but I'm stuck on Firefox right because Opera won't work with itunnel (No native SOCKS5 support, crashes with proxychains.) and my DSL is down.

This is my first time using 3.6, and it's not bad, but it's not as snappy as Opera, it seems.

I use Google Chrome now. I had been an Internet Explorer hold out for a long while, up until just before IE8 came out. IE7 was too slow so I tried out Chrome. It was so fast compared to IE7 that it seemed like I upgraded from 56k to cable again. I just like how simple and effective Chrome is. I don't use anything but the browser, I have no need for extra bars or widgets or addons.

Depends on my OS, really.

OS X? I stick with Safari, but keep Flash content in Camino. (OS X flash is a fucking nightmare) When I'm on Windows, though, I'll use Firefox or Chrome.

As for Linux... Firefox. Chrome, Opera, whatever... they all seem to suck with the exception of Midori, from my experience. (Midori lacks extensions, though)

Doesn't matter which browser I use really, I say this because I got basically the most popular browsers installed. Google Chrome, Safari, Opera, and Firefox obviously, and I didn't mention Internet Explorer because it already comes with Windows obviously.

I have those installed in such a way that I use them to test my webpages inside of, making sure my webpage displays correctly in all browsers. Most of the time I will use firefox and sometimes Google Chrome which I will install on an ASUS eeePC netbook I just ordered.

Firefox for me. Just like a few of the other people here, I've never had any crashing problems/bugs and things like that. Chrome definitely isn't that bad though. I use it on my old computer as it's a good deal faster. When it comes to Ubuntu, they're evenly matched in speed.

Overall, FF = win.

Firefox.

Opera's layout bugs me, Chrome is evil (made by Google--the people who tell you they 'do no evil' while stabbing you in the back), and IE sucks.

I use Firefox and Opera.

But all web browsers suck.

Seriously (or maybe it's just that all websites are badly made ? )

I never used Opera just because I thought it was a gay name for a web browser lol. However, I did use it on my old Sony Ericsson w580i cell phone because it was 123072037% better than the shitty ass default one. i Opera Mini on it.

But now I've got my iPhone, so Safari wins by default.

I dunno, you ever wondered about IE's preference? I mean, it has this tendency of screwing over other browsers and all...

This pretty much explains my choice and reasoning right on the head.

I switched to Chrome because Firefox crashed all the time, randomly deleted my cookies and just plain didn't work at all.
I'd like to switch to either Firefox or Opera one day, but I'm lazy to move stuff.

I don't really care as long as it works, isn't slow, and isn't IE.
