I'm glad I have Cox Cable... but who's to say with this overturning that they won't do it next since they know they won't get in trouble for it?

Luckily, this ruling pretty much says that Comcast sucks. It doesn't actually place restrictions on access. It only means that the FCC has no power over broadband restrictions.

Some ISPs are more determined to serve the customer rather than themselves, and they won't place restrictions on access though. There aren't many of them around but they do exist.

Still not thrilled with the decision, as it could possibly lead to a broadband system similar to the Australian model.

Don't expect congress to wipe your ass for you. People need to start standing up and writing positive letters to their offices. And lots of them. Multiple ones if you have to.

The more people know about this, the better, and the less these fuckers will take away our freedom of the internet.

Problem: Comcast wants to offer Internet service in tiers.

Meaning they can make it to where you pay more for more access.

Which in term will make other ISPs possibly see this as a way to make more money and follow suit.

Last night, right before I went to bed, I started downloading the Paper Mario: TTYD OST via uTorrent. Mere minutes later, the connection just died. It was apparently dead all night.

I am a Comcast customer.

I'm sure it was just a coincidence, but reading this nevertheless gave me a few chills.

Solution: Encrypt. Fucking. Everything. While you still can.

Granted that's far from the best solution but it's one of the more feasible.

Oh god, Cablevision better not follow suit with this since I've been with them since 2001.

And yes, we all need to stand up for ourselves, or the people higher up are just gonna continue walking over us, especially if we don't take action while we still can.

While this is bad, it's only due to the deregulation from 2005.

The same deregulation the current FCC can simply remove without a bill.

Assuming they do that (as the FCC is currently ticked off at people like Comcast) this will no longer be a problem.

Good thing I won't be using Comcast for much longer, I guess. Although if other ISPs follow suit...

I'm not a fan of deregulation. I think the government should regulate businesses more. Then again, I'm also not a capitalist to begin with.

At least I haven't heard anything about Road Runner regulating anything... but now I'm worried. What if they appeal this and it fails again? =(

This is one reason why I want to move out of the United States eventually...

Anyway, yeah. I'm not pleased with this bullshit. I'll be writing to... fuck, gotta find out who's in charge, but WHOEVER THAT IS.
Comcast can eat a dick.

I'm not too fond of Newyorkers myself to tell you the truth, no offence to other newyorkers. I lived and still live in Connecticut ever since birth. So yes, I'm a Connecticutian.

And the deregulation is indeed bullshit, and if any of this actually does happen... well, let's just say I'll be moving to another country, I'm fed up with the direction the usa is heading into.

Surely there has to be a way to overturn their decision...
