The Hiker on Route 46 (Anthony? can't remember) isn't very bright. He didn't attack me once. One hit point left and he uses Defense Curl. I even slowly whittled down one of his Geodudes with a Mareep using Tackle and he spent the entire time just using Defense Curl, Rock Polish and Mud Sport. Yes, he puts quite a bit of effort into reducing the power of electric attacks, even though he has only rock Pokémon.

It's also starting to look like Pay Day may not be as useful as it seems at this point (got like $29000 and still a couple expensive useless items to sell off), but I want a Persian anyway, so oh well.

Bulbapedia's been so slow lately. Maybe getting hammered since the release?

I'm using a Goldeen as a Surf slave. Not really sure how... those things are small...

Sold some expensive junk I'd been holding on to after confirming it has no other purpose. Up to $37000 now. I should buy some TMs. Seems a lot easier to make money in the remakes once you reach Goldenrod. Apparently you can even (indirectly) get some free money in the underground pass on Monday mornings... of course I learn this on a Monday evening.

Also the idea of using a Meowth to fight in the water... while riding a Goldeen... this seems awfully strange. But they don't seem to mind! Crazy critters.

Hmm. Look close at the stat text on the top screen as you scroll through your Pokémon in the "Move Pokémon" PC menu. One is always tinted slightly blue, and another red... what's up with that?

How the nature of the pokemon affects the stats. Blue is good, red is bad. There is at most one pair.

Better than using a rock while surfing on a Tauros.

Also I hate Voltorb flip. I should've beat lost to Whitney already!

The less you think about the mechanics of pokemon the easier it is to sleep at night.

Also, not HG/SS, but my roommate caught a shiny "A" Unown in FireRed today. Thought that was pretty cool.

Debating whether to raise a Miltank. Was a right bitch to catch. First one, in its sleep at just under half HP, instantly broke out of a couple Heavy Balls, Level Balls, and even Ultra Balls, healed with Milk Drink a couple times, put to sleep the only Pokémon that could attack it without knocking it out, and when he finally woke up and delivered the blow that might just weaken it enough... you guessed it.... Second one was not so difficult.

Current target is 35 before the next gym; all are 27 right now except one that's 28, so that may take a while...

Lighthouse is cool. Nice 3D effect, though noticeably slow... nice balance of trainer types too; wish I could re-do it a few times.

Then I see Suicune just chilling there and I figure I better just walk up to just before where he's likely to notice me, save, and try to catch him... I'm not well prepared but by the time I go to the Pokémon Centre and back he'll probably be gone.
Literally one step before I was going to save, he reacts... shit what's this... he's running away... across the water, WTF? Oh well. Oh now this guy wants to fight and I can't get out of it and I haven't saved and I'm ill-prepared and he's a CHEAP FUCKING JERK. D: But I survived anyway...

So I just decided to randomly play crystal.

Figuring I should bother to train the extremespeed Dratini I go fight Liz with it. Finding Entei in the way.
For some reason everytime I train the Dratini I find Entei.
Getting some coins to get Ice Beam for the Dratini, I get all 7's after something smashes the slots.
And then immediately after Liz calls some Tanya and figures she dialed the wrong number. (Wait what?)
I save right there and the time is exactly 100:00.
Too bad I didn't have enough coins (4xx out of 4000)
As soon as I step on grass again, I find Raikou.

I think the game wants to be played.

Also stupid Smeargle made me freak out becouse I thought it was shiny.

The other two will take you more by surprise. And by surprise I mean getting bored with Lv5 rattata and suddenly olimpusmon that will flee unless it is bored and can kill your pokemon in one hit without fail, in which case it will do so and then flee.
