I don't want to derail an already existing topic so I will ask my question here.
Does anybody know of a programme (for Windows 7 preferably) that can remap the Windows Logo key and the Right-Click Menu key? I could really put those keys into use if I could have them mapped to a symbol, and I sometimes tend to accidently trigger the menu key when I go to hold down the Alt-Gr key.
I remember using the MS Keyboard Layout Creator long ago before I purchased and imported british keyboards, I made use of the alt-gr key in those days and I remapped the '\' to the 'z' key when a user holds down the alt-gr key. And I wasn't sure if sharpkeys was Windows 7 compatible so I had to ask and make sure
However, I couldn't find the right-click menu key listed as an available key when I looked through the 'Map this key (From key):' section, unless the key has a different name?
Edit: I found it! I apparently wasn't paying attention to the Type Key button, silly me.
And I just edited my post before your reply came in, what fast timing!
And yes I just stumbled upon that setting before you could post your response.
Now I can remap it to the 'micro symbol' key, but what if I want to remap the key multiple times, like say I wanted to press the key for a different symbol if I were to hold down the shift key and/or the alt-gr key?
Edit: Sharpkeys is telling me that I typed a key that it doesn't know about, of course it does say (E0_205D) when I held the alt-gr key and pressed the menu key. Any way to get around it or I can't map my key this way?
I looked carefully in the 'MSKLC' utility and didn't see a way to map the menu key action when holding down alt-gr, since the menu key wasn't listed in the picture diagram.
So then I'm not going to be able to map the menu key when holding down the alt-gr key and shift key?
Unless I overlooked something in Sharpkeys or MSKLC?
I checked that option too, but I'm still not presented with a way to edit the Windows Logo key and the Menu key, I will printscreen what I'm talking about in a moment when this post is finished being written.
Unfortunately, you've run into one of the limitations of Windows’ keyboard layouts... the Windows logo and menu keys cannot be changed to produce a different character; however, they can be changed using SharpKeys to produce a different scancode (like when I changed the menu key to the §/± key on my Windows keyboard, for example.)

Still, I wanted to be able to change what symbol gets produced when the alt-gr key is held down, but I suppose I can live without that key action that I tried to achieve. Thanks for your help Schala, really appreciated!
In the meantime, I'll have to fiddle around with Sharpkeys to see if I can find a manual way of changing that one action I desire, it should be easy to change once I find what I'm looking for in the windows registry.
Autohotkey is a great program for all this stuff. It can remap keys and has a rather powerful scripting system, so you can program all kinds of combinations and stuff, too. </advertisement>
