Good hacks can be pretty hard to find sometimes;
everybody -- lets go make a list of them!

And I have no issues with shameless self promotion |superd|

The only one's I'm familiar with are slight changes of stuff off of the DS ~

If you think pokemon isn't hard enough, this is the hack for you.

Trainer's teams have been modified to be much harder.
And the Gym leaders to be near impossible.

The ability to catch every pokemon and humorous text edits = neatness

There's Mario Adventure, 1 of the most complete and professional hacks of Super Mario Bros. 3

It includes some new (hacked) power-ups including Magic Mario (Hammer Mario), Invisible Mario (Tanuki Mario), higher jumping for Fire Mario, and lasting Goomba's Shoe, plus a SMW-style item box. The levels are totally new and feature innovative concepts. Coins no longer give lives (which are unlimited) but you may spend them for items for your inventory.

To make it REALLY challenging, restrict catching all pokemon

Honestly though, D/P/Pt needed this the least. Highest-levelled E4 of all the pokemon games, an extra area with lv. 50+ random encounters, etc. I'd prefer a difficulty hack for something like Firered more >.>

If I come across any good ones I'll post them later.

Super Mario Evolution

It's a Japanese hack of SMB that's centered around Yoshi. It has a few tricky jumps, but nothing impossible. It's a little short, and not the most fun you'll have with a hack (unless you enjoy an 8-bit Yoshi's Story tune looping forever), but it's interesting to look at.
