I also forgot to mention that the mini pipes work but will appear as a white block.

Well... That means they dont work. Who would want glitched white blocks in their MvsL levels?

Well in one of my levels I just hid the pipe out of view.

A List of what works and doesn't work in Mario vs. Luigi Multiplayer Levels.

=== WORKS ===

OBJECTS: Adding, deleting, resizing, moving, changing type

SPRITES: Moving, changing type and data

VIEWS: Resizing, moving

PROGRESS PATHS: Moving, resizing

ENTRANCES: All except for doors and mini pipes.

Vines (NOT the one that comes out of ? block. Does not animate correctly but works.)

Invisible Blocks

=== DOESNT WORK ===
SPRITES: Adding or deleting

STARS: Adding, deleting, changing sprite data

? blocks with vine/springboard

Changing sprite sets, backgrounds, tilesets.

Mini pipes.

Doors. It seems you can come out of them, but they don't animate.

Adding views.

=== TO BE INVESTIGATED (It's possible but its not clear how) ===

Entrances to other levels.

DS Download Play (seems to depend on your firmware, works on some DS lites or not).
If you report it works or not with your DS, please try to report here when did you buy it, and your firmware version using the pictochat trick: Launch the NDS with an official game inside, go to Pictochat, take it out, see what color the screen turns into.

Sorry I've been away for a while

My big post about hex editing the levels into the ROM is mean't to be in this thread. If you hex in the level yourself as per my tutorial you have the follwing advantages 100% of the time:

A. Adding and Deleting Blocks, Sprites, Entrances, Paths (anything that changes the size of the level). WORK PERFECTLY

B. You can do the EXACT SAME THING on DS download play as you can with two flashcarts.

This was how to do the same thing as treeki's Nitro Explorer/Built in NSMB file replacer but choose your own offset. Until the new version of NSMB is released you will have freezing download lay levels and messed up icons when using Treeki's tools.

On my pink firmware DS Lite and pink firmware DS Phat linked

A List of what works and doesn't work in Mario vs. Luigi Multiplayer Levels. DOWNLOAD PLAY

=== WORKS ===

OBJECTS: Adding, deleting, resizing, moving, changing type

SPRITES: Adding, deleting, changing data, moving, changing type

VIEWS: Resizing, moving

PROGRESS PATHS: Moving, resizing

REGULAR PATHS (Connected Pipes): Adding, deleting, resizing, moving,

ENTRANCES: Adding, Deleting, Changing data

STARS: Adding, deleting, changing sprite data (Make sure all the stars have consecutive star ID's eg: if you had 3 stars the star ID's would be 0, 1, 2)

Invisible Blocks

All spikes and ice from castle tileset

=== DOESNT HAVE ANIMATIONS FOR (These will work perfectly but look kinda weird) ===

Slopes

Rope

Vines

Doors

=== DOESNT HAVE PICTURE DATA FOR (These will work perfectly but look like white rectangles) ===

Mini pipes.

Square metal pipe connectors

=== DOESNT WORK ===

Changing sprite sets, backgrounds, tilesets.

Adding views.

=== TO BE INVESTIGATED (It's possible but its not clear how) ===

Entrances to other levels.

I have tried and tried, but i just can't seem to get DS Download play working. I am using a blue ds phat, and a pink ds lite. Ill explain exactly what happens:

1. I open up my (U) NSMB rom in NSMBE and add a single pipe to MvsL field stage
2. I save, then extract the J1 and it's BG data, as well as the field narc
3. I open up the narc in narc explorer, then replace the J1 and BG with the ones i extracted
4. I open NSMBE again and replace the field narc with the one i edited
5. I put the rom and the firmware in a folder on my AK2i
6. I start up the pink dsL and load the firmware, then choose ds download play
7. I take out the AK2i, then put it in the blue ds phat.
8. I start up my edited rom, then choose MvsL. I play as mario.
9. I start the download on the dsL
10. The Nintendo log appears, dissapears, then i have a pure white screen on the top and bottom

If you know what i am doing wrong, please tell me .

Try downloading the game into the DS phat with the normal firmware.
I'm not sure what's wrong, though...

That's unusual. Did you turn ds download play on in the settings? The default is usually disabled. Btw what version of NSMBe do you use? DSi to DSi works, DSi to DS lite works, and DS lite to DSi works with download play.

There are different versions of NSMBe? What do you mean? All i find are the earlier versions and an unreleased one.

Could somone try sending me a patch for NSMB with a level that works on your ds, and i'll see if it works on mine?

Look here at the different versions: http://treeki.shacknet.nu/

I mean that there are newer updates and very old ones that are barely used anymore.

Here is a patch for NSMB (U) Rom.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VGI6AONH

BTW I use an acekard 2i and dstti and they both work fine.

All the M vs. L levels have been edited. I battle on these levels with my friends. I am still working on fixing some glitches though..

Try using AKAIO as your acekard's software.

That is because you aren't adding any extra data. You are just modifying the data.
