So, BEST-mix #1 bracket 1 is released.

...and so far I am not impressed with any of the entries.

You expected them to be as such?

Seriously, any collab of more than three people that you get into these days aren't worth the time...even then with small numbers it doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to be that good.

I think I'm just flat out not even going to do them anymore, even if I get requested to do as such.

When files are getting high ratings there and mine are actually lower than everyone elses, they think I'm doing it to be a pain in the ass.

Unfortunately, when your Light and Standard suck hard, your file isn't too great in these competitions.

Dude...even if it says that no one's to be named they're still going to figure out who was who and they're going to rate them as they are anyways...if nothing else they could always go by AIM or IRC or whatever and bribe the hell out of them and/or tell people in charge ahead of time what they're going to do 'so vote for me and say fsck it to anyone else'.

Fact of the matter is, those comps all fucking suck. They're popularly based. That's why even if you had the best sim ever created it wouldn't mean a damn in a competition against someone that used the Backstreet Boys and had a huge fanbase as a simmer.

Hence why I didn't enter.

Just am rating the sims.

That ought to make things interesting.

Makes me wonder how the ratings would be in comparison to yours.

I dunno. I seem to be the one with the longest reviews per sim.

Over 9000 seems wow.

Especially when the judges are saying 'Overall: 9004/10 - 9000 (4/10)'.

Order of ops, people. What's wrong here? (negative 8k)

People are complaining about me saying things about double stepping being bad.

OH BOY.

I'm so glad I didn't enter. Its just so Heavy oriented and the fact that many of them are (quite literally) comparing charts directly to DDR shows that they have issues.

I love those guys. They're the guys who think that 4826426848482626 should be the only patterns to exist, ever.

Double-stepping is only supposed to be used when the pattern calls for it based on the song.

I mean say I wanted to do something like a crossover formation, either back-and-forth or half-circle + half-circle with breaks inbetween or maybe because the song calls for something like 884286228428...etc. Goes along with Kles's overly plain sequence but it's something easy to depict rather than 842, 286, 624, 426, 684, 482, 246 (4+6).

Now doing bullshit like random steps and not really caring about patterns and formations is where the line gets drawn. You can tell when someone BSes a chart without taking style into account ESPECIALLY when they're facing a certain direction all the time.

I don't make many pad files, but I feel double stepping should not be placed all over unreasonably *add a sentence that repeats what was already said*

Well, plowed through Medium. Nothing under 4-stars and a very large majority of it (including Free Bird) was 5-starred.

Hard...just off the bat...I'm doing 3- or 4-star work because I'm not used to that fifth note just yet and I look like an idgit going for those fast streams of notes.

EDIT: And just to say that I'm not perfect:

Jordan Hard 58%
Jordan Expert 7%
Trogdor Expert 17%

So yea, it's still very hard...it's no cakewalk...but I've got experience thanks to other rhythm games such as StepMania.

Before I could pass anything in the first tier on hard, I could 5 star Beast and the Harlot (on hard), but would always fail somewhere in Woman or Mother.

And just to prove I'm not perfect as well:

Jordan Expert: 60% (luck)
Six Expert: 3 star 80% (see below)
Six Hard: 4 star 85-89% (insanely gay)
Jordan Hard: 5 star 96% (WTF)

On the local arcade's SuperNova, I finally passed Healing-D-Vision (yesterday) as an extra stage... I was just excited because I had played it so many times and was even trying to pass it 4-5 months ago. CHAOS raped me. Nothing else special, some other ten footers on singles and doubles. I think I passed like 21 ten foot charts, 22 if HDV is a ten (I forgot).

And I'm not really that good at StepMania; I can't even get halfway into Emerald Sword, but my little brother can get an A on it.

All I gotta focus on is bringing up my perfects count, because I can pass alot of songs that other people (who get more perfects than me) can't pass, but I do it with about the same number of greats as perfects...

It's a 10. StepMania takes practice. Play spread; it's easier.
