Okay, using this editor on a Mac is abysmal. It always crashes. You can't delete in bulk and you can't delete entrances/exits/views/zones either. You also can't make patches. Here's the error when it crashes:
Tue Mar 23 20:06:04 Camewels-MacBook-Pro.local mono[66282] : kCGErrorCannotComplete: CGSDeviceSynchronize: Invalid device window
It spews that up more times than Terminal (basically mac cmd) can cope with. Dirb, Treeki, do either of you know what's going on?

Wow, thanks for giving the thread a useful title.

NSMBe5 doesn't run perfectly on Mono. I've never tried running it on OS X so I don't know what could be wrong.

If it's really important, you could make a program for doing the patches in non-windows systems.

Yeah, I could try to...

What do you mean? Create patches or apply patches?

It doesn't make. I haven't tried applying yet. I also can't import exported levels or delete all objects or sprites.
Also, it there's any way you can have alternatives to the Del and Ctrl buttons, as macs don't have them.

Why not just use Boot Camp?

1) It's a pain switching between OSs and I don't want to use Windows for anything but the bare minimum as it sucks.
3) That's 192 pounds I'm not getting back whereas I can probably get an old windows computer for free from my dad's work.
D) I don't want my hard drive messed with.
Next) I lost count, but that's some goot reasons.

Yeah, I understand...

I'll see if I can get a Mac running, either on my (tiny) HDD or on a VM.

No, those are dumb reasons.

Firstly, a Mac DOES have the Control key. Look carefully.

2. Why don't you want your HDD messed with? It's even supported by Apple! You can always uninstall it. It doesn't touch your Mac partition.

Dirbaio: Does it work in Linux, if yes, then it should work fine on Mac as well...

Yeah, Apple ripped off a hefty part of BSD a while ago,
causing their OS to become a UNIX based system.

No, quite clearly you're stupid.
The mac control key doesn't work as a control key, douche.
Because I'd like to keep my HDD for my files, no waste loads on windows.
IT DOESN'T WORK ON A MAC THOUGH, SO YOUR REASONING IS CRAP.
You also forgot the £192 pounds of my cash, and if you think that's not important, I'd like £192 pounds of YOUR cash then.
Basically, go away.

Oh, and you suck too. He meant because they both run it on mono (that, or he's a real douche). OSX is not even nearly the same as Linux.

Anyways, have you tried the editor in wine?

Chances are it won't load at all, but if it does, the patching might work.

Hmmm... No.
.NET framework is hard / impossible to get to work with wine.
Mono is the best choice.

If they would try and help, instead of spewing unhelpful stuff and treating me like I'm retarded, there'd be no need.
But I see your meaning, i just go on rants sometimes.

they're not treating you like a retard. It's called troubleshooting. They don't have your computer in front of them. They don't have all the facts. How the fuck do you expect them to help you if they don't know what works and doesn't?

I would use mah psychic powers, but I'm all out of quarters

Do older versions of the editor have the patcher in it?

If they do,
there's a chance that they will work better with mono.
Or muuuuch worse.

...dude, chill. This got resolved ages ago. Then other people came along being unhelpful. You can hardly calling my perfectly legitimate reasons why I didn't use an alternative 'dumb' (which means unable to talk, btw), and then implying that I was lying helpful can you? You weren't in this pointless debate and you needn't be. Just leave it. It's over.
