The oddity is I was desensitized a long time ago to all curse words, and even say nasty, horrible, vile things, but never with anything worse than a sub-PG 13 level word.

Indeed, people seem to freak out more when I start politely telling them they suck and listing why, and responding to their cursing in the same fashion.

Apparently, never cursing gives some people the idea you never lose your cool, which scares some people out of their wits for no good reason.

I swear a lot around my parents. Hell, I was smoking pot with my mom when I was 16 years old, and I even had a bong. I started cussing around my parents when I was about 15. They had foul mouths too, and they never saw a problem with it. Only unless I use it at the right time. Like "Hey mom did you go to the fucking grocery store today"? Would get me in trouble. "Fuck, I forgot about that" would not.

The only place I don't swear is mainly around people I work with. And LAN parties. It's rare if I ever lose my cool around friends who play videogames. (Last time I did this was with some Julers on UT2k4. But that was only because someone who was right next to me at the time kept bugging me. I wigged out and slammed my hand on the table exclaiming curse words).

Church too. But I don't go to church. When I used to, I always held my tounge around certain people. But when they were in my domain, they saw the true side of me.

But I am 22 years old. You can listen to my fucking mouth all day. Don't like it? Don't listen to it.

My parents didn't really care about me swearing, since I especially did it on my journal entries, even from 1995 (when I was 11...)

However, I try not to swear at work, or in public too often... I do sometimes say like "What the—?" or "Oh, snap!", though. =P

I used to swear rather often in my youth, but only myself when nobody else was around. I grew tired of it after a year or two, so I then started to focus on how I use my words to express myself instead of which ones I use. These days, I pretty much never swear, despite the fact that it wouldn't be problematic if I did, aside from a few key situations.
On the Internet, I also typically refrain from using swear words, unless it would be troublesome to refer to something or somebody without using one. (See: Shitposting.) Yet again, I doubt anybody would particularly mind, but it seems a bit unnatural to me at this point.

With all that said, I'm actually fond of the word "damn" for some reason, but I typically keep that one in reserve that for special circumstances.

Funny, I do the same thing. Although IRL, I haven't needed to use it; for whatever reason, saying words such as "Keep on cursing, by all means" has dealt more damage to people than the curse-filled alternative.

I've had a habit of inserting a "fucking" or "goddamn" when my brain is taking longer than usual to figure out the remainder of a sentence. I've made an effort to reduce the amount of cussing and replace those with more friendly words. They really aren't difficult to avoid most of the time.
