Obviously John Calvin is a great American man who ought to be honored more than the guy who wrote THE FUCKING CONSTITUTION. It's all because Jefferson made his own version of the Bible without Jesus' miracles I bet. Fucking Texans...

Hey, let them do that. It'll just further place Texas behind the messed up but-not-that-messed-up mess California has education-wise.

Less competition, y'see?

Republican Terri Leo ... called the standards "world class" and "exceptional."

Yeah, ... yeah, you've certainly helped to make Texas into an exception. No other state will produce a workforce quite as intolerant as yours. Congratulations.

Sadly, I think conservatives outnumber liberals in the USA by about 2 to 1

I think it's disgusting how they're trying to push their ideals on young, impressionable school students.

Truthfully, more of the US consists of religious people than most of Europe, and from that you can see the conservative upbringing of many people causes these things to be passed.

It's quite simple--Europe moved away from this sort of conservatism while the US has lived to strengthen it. Therefore, it is to be no surprise to what ends it will change the school system. Perhaps evolution should also be removed, and perhaps physics too--these contradict with 'God' and competing with our neighbors was more or less dropped with our refusal to convert to metric.

Actually, the spread is a lot less unbalanced (as noted by the elections)... in the Northeast, for example, it's heavily Democratic, whereas in the deep south it's mostly Republican.

The only difference is that all of the conservative idiots are on the teevee. Hi Glenn Beck!

This is what I was going by, 40% conservative and 21% liberal. Of course, there are a lot of moderates in there too, and I think it's self-reporting so inaccuracies could creep in.

It is true that it varies a lot by region though.

The difference is, even with no funding, we won't be teaching outright lies!

It should! After all the cool people move out.

I don't think PR would mind taking its place along the 50 states, and we wouldn't even have to change the flag.

Yeah, it's not like Texas doesn't have the ability to do so. They should take advantage of that and just go. Then they can bastardize their education as much as they want to.

Actually, they don't, but that doesn't stop Dick Rick Perry from pretending they do.
