I'd say my opinion about this: the trailer of this movie told me (way of saying) it clashes on somethings. Some characters look odd and clashy as live-action movie. It's clear enough that everything is fake and made with computers, i mean, so many special effect to seem unreal and fake (ok, if it looks real, it's fake anyway, like every fantasy movie). The queen is odd at every sense. It doesn't look real enough (the face reminds me Frieza from DBZ, i dunno why). the Cheshire Cat scared me.
Maybe this movie will be a kickass, it's even made by Tim Burton and must not be expected a Youtube poop, at all, but, in my opinion, there are too many special effects that ruine the movie. I also think this would have come much better as a 3D cartoon, imo, but i dunno if Tim Burton would to :/
This is acutally my opinion. Let's see in future.
I also heard that Tokio Hotel will make the soundtrack... what a sadness!

RottenTomatoes has it at 54%, Metacritic at 53.
...Mixed reaction, no? I actually might still want to see this... although the *worst* review linked on Metacritic has a good one.

I thought it sucked. I was waiting for it to get better and in fact, got very wrong and worse at the very end.
Syfy's Alice is better that this movie.

 | I'm probably still going to see this. I'm willing to give this movie a lot of leeway. I don't care if it is a mindfuck or not, or doesn't do justice to the original. All I want is a dark spin on Wonderland that will be at least mildly entertaining. If this movie does that, then I'll be satisfied.
I did hear that the plot really sucks/makes no sense though. Don't know if it will be enough to bother me or not. Will probably see it this Sunday.

It wasn't THAT bad honestly.
I enjoyed it, at least. |

Yeah, I mean, really. Johnny Depp? Can't you do something new? You're good at being a freak. And as a weird person myself, your bizarre mannerisms are inspiring.
But maybe you could try not to stereotype yourself out of being interesting. I'm afraid this movie will be like one of those movies where Will Smith plays... Will Smith. "I came here to watch the movie, not that sole actor!"

I agree, this is what i exactely thought when i firstly saw it, the movie is called "Alice in Wonderland", but in most of the movie posters there is always the mad hatter (Johnny Depp) at the center, in evidence. I acutally don't know why!!!!! (irony)
I didn't watch the movie, but i acutally don't like the concept.

| | Metal_Man88's Post | Yeah, the Depp, Tim Burton, and Johnny Depp trio just need to find some new people to work with. Like, I dunno, how about a Tim Allen - Johnny Depp - Clint Eastwood as director thing? Maybe they could do something new.
Although Tim allen can be pretty bad, so I dunno. Maybe I just want to create something even more bizarre than Clint Eastwood's crooning at the end of Gran Torino.

 | So I finally saw this thing.
Fucking horrible. I wasn't expecting it to be good after reading everything here, and it actually had the potential to be awesome, but the plot was way too stupid. My main problem was that too many people constantly held the idiot ball with this, most notably Alice and the Red Queen. I wanted to punch them both in the face so many times. Now I liked the look of this, the style, and the dark tone of things, and the movie didn't start out that bad although even it could have been better, but the plot was completely irredeemable.
The movie couldn't seem to make up its mind on what its message was, what wonderland was supposed to represent, or even what the plot even was. It was just one big plot hole after another, covered by weak attempts at explaining them, all of which failed miserably in their goal. After the first twenty minutes, this film no longer had anything to do with Alice in Wonderland whatsoever, and had simply become a bad film full of cliche, bad storytelling, and undeveloped characters all of whom can't see the forest for the trees. There weren't even any surprises in this, and the final battle, as well as all of the action, was lackluster. It seemed like every action scene was just the villians standing around going "i'll just stand here and let you kill me" What a yawn fest. This movie doesn't even have any "what the fuck" moments, just a hell of a lot of facepalms.

Still, didn't watch the movie, but i don't expect anything of good.
Gawd why do people like this only because it is made by Tim Burton and included Johnny Deep????????
