I think it's around, but only for people who want to experiment.

What is that under the video? The description. The arrow means to read more of the description and there is no problem with this. I don't know how you can't see the description and video but every screenshot I've seen of the new layout looks like I could do both.

It's far harder to focus on two things on top of each other than it is when they are side by side. This is compounded by the fact that now more of the screen is wasted by related videos, meaning you get even less information on the screen at once.

Also 1024x768 + longer descriptions = total joke

I switched to Feather too, but it doesn't work on all videos (ex. Vevo, chuggaaconroy, etc.) =/

I can't use fullscreen mode on my laptop because the video (but not the sound!) randomly freezes. I have to hit Esc to get it going again. Multiple video driver and Flash updates have failed to fix the problem.

I've had it start at the normal side by side view, then suddenly have everything flip around to the large video view. Quite annoying.

One good thing I can say though is the comments view where you can change pages directly, rather than just incrementally add N comments to the page.
