I tried it recently. While it does everything a hell of a lot faster than Firefox, it also refuses to load a few pages - specifically, images and Translation Party. Also, I can't fathom why, in a window, the title/tab bar looks like this;

But in fullscreen, it looks like this;

I gotta admit, though - I like the way everything looks.

Neat, I'll have to see how fast it loads videos vs. the version I'm using now.

Initial reports seem to indicate that web-2.0iness is way up, which is about as far from a good thing as I can possibly imagine

10.5 isn't that bad, you just have to learn to embrace the great new features and enhancements and other such fun stuff.

Hint hint: whenever there's a new major release, always wait until the next few versions have been released.

At least for Opera, new versions always are riddled with bugs because they try to rush development, which is never good. Only after a few more versions the application is actually finished.

Paulguy's Post configuration
I want a real menu bar. Everything requiring menus takes 1 extra unnecessary click. I find that completely unreasonable and unnecessary. I don't know why they did that and made it so you can't change it back. I could understand minimizing interface space, but really, the menu bar was only a few pixels tall. Hurting usability for a few pixels of space is not worth it. I'm fine with Changes to GUIs, though, as long as there are options; someone might like to have the absolute smallest interface possible (even though the toolbar is still kinda chubby) but I like my controls presented and visible with the least time and effort if possible.

I just got 10.50 and for some reason smooth scrolling is totally hosed. It is like it's lagging like hell.

And it eats up more memory than Firefox. Guess I need to start using FF again until Opera updates.

That's odd, nothing like that for me unless I'm scrolling by Hyperhacker's layout. And way less memory usage here than Firefox...

Yes.

Yeah, it's weird for me. I noticed a huge difference due to a lot of images lagging and having pathetic speeds. It could be something messed up on my end, or hell, maybe it could be my computer not being up to par with a lot of other computers out there.

Using Chrome, and the only thing wrong with this is half of the images don't want to load. After I refresh the browser, it's there.

The cache might be set to "automatic", where it'll just use up memory for cache until the OS kills it for running out of memory.

As for the speed issues, I have no idea. Linux is still stuck on 10.10, but 10.50 worked alright in Wine as well as virtualbox for me.

I got it now that it's 10.51. It doesn't seem too broken.
